Without the use of hindsight, I saw Strouds throwing performance during the combine, and his mechanics from the drop back to release were so flawless, plus the ball placement allowing the receivers to catch so smoothly in stride had me convinced he was being taken #1. Then the video released with all of the coach smiling and laughing with him. Stroud was their guy. Thanks Tepper.

Young was not the problem, however, he was not the answer. He was not a good fit for what the Panthers needed. There was no way his college days were going to translate to the NFL in year 1 or year 2. They were a terrible team, with no weapons, or OL to pass protect. They needed to draft someone similar to Cam Newton and let them sit for a year. I always thought they should have taken Anthony Richardson. He is bigger, stronger, more athletic, very mobile, and has a cannon for an arm all traits Young does not possess. The problem was Tepper and his wife were both playing coach, GM, and Owner. They should have listened to Frank Reich who saw this train wreck before the train left the station. Young's career more than likely will be done at the conclusion of his current contract. Tepper and the Panther show you how to ruin a career before it even gets started.
