Not sure if you have already fixed this, but use fine sandpaper to take out the extra plastic. Sandpaper on the table, ring flat on top, move in slow circles until thickness matches old metal ring. Install, happy flying! :)

Not sure if you read comments on older videos...... Just got the hot pink Boxer Crush and almost immediately upgraded it with the blue LEDs and the CNC blue button upgrade. I haven't even flown with it yet....except in the simulators. I knew that the sticks would be a little bit deeper but since I'm coming from TX12 with the mini gimbals, I didn't think it would be a big deal. This video popped up as a suggestion. My heart sank when you brought up the limitations with the LEDs and the AG01 gimbals...but thankfully....it doesn't affect the Boxer as it did the TX16 (I actually panicked for a moment because I thought it might). BTW....the hot pink Boxer Crush with blue buttons, blue sticks and blue LEDs looks SICK!!!!

Adjust your stick ends up to clear the side. Adjust by the amount it sank the gimbals in.

Lengthening the stick ends doesn't change the angle at which they intersect the case. They still hit.

In fact, I flew so often, that it made the local community newspaper as a "UFO sighting" & the pic they had was of my T-Rex 500 ESP 3G. 🤣

I've only recently received my TX16S, an upgrade over a Jumper T8SG, so this type of mod could not be justified yet! The stock gimbals on it are much better than the old Jumper I used to fly with. The throws are a bit far when pinching, but this is what I signed up for when getting a full size radio. Not sure I'd want the LED lights.

Did anyone mention to extend the sticks with different finger pads. The extended stick is probably the best bet. It’ll compensate for the deeper installation and give full range of motion.😉🤙I just bought the TX16 BD version and purple AG01 gimbals.

Use a dremel with variable speed set on very low with an acorn or barrel shaped bit and take off some of the carbon fiber on the body of the tx. Don't lose your throw Joshua!

I do have those lights and I have the TX16S MAX pyrodrone edition and I did not have any issues with the throw or rubbing, I was just watching the review on those new gimbals and I was gonna get them til I saw this video and it made me decide to stick with the stock TX16S MAX gimbals. I really love those LEDs too and I really like how deep the gimbals get cause I can feel I can get to the end of the throw effortlessly without having to do any adjustments, I'm not a pincher though.

Did these end up in the boxer as well? I installed these in the boxer and didn't have the throw limitation issue, but did have to snip the screws shorter. Do these impact battery life?

I bought one of the first generation of lights from the bangerang site, Had to solder it to a mosfet and had to use tape to hold the leds to the sides of the plastic inserts. I think it looks great and nobody will be snooping on whats going on with my controller cause its honking blinding.

This was one of my "first things to do" mods. Gutted as I too have the CNC gimbals. Actually, my CNC gimbals in the MKii Max do touch the inner down on both sides...stock! Well, this just kiss. Doesn't effect my 100% on the screen, though. But still...gutted about these lights.

It's funny how many comments relate to "why do you need the LED, we wear goggles". Well I don't wear goggles when I am flying fixed wing, 3D heli, or using it for my twin steer/MOA crawlers and racing Mono hull and Catamarans. Then the argument of whether or not the controller is used at night, most definitely do with my crawlers. Yeah I get it, with the goggles and the bling bling, but there is more to RC than just FPV. With the rub, a few options to correct. First do as others have stated and hone the plastic piece to fit. Another option is to replace thumb sticks with a narrow body and flare out after clearing the recess, and finally, more complex, one could design in CAD and 3D print a new plastic piece out of transparent PETG as a housing for a Neopixl Neon or Ring with some sort of Logic Shifter (convert your 3.3v to 5v for the LED)

Normally you can adjust the gimbal ends. They are two parts or fixed by hex inside. Was thinking the same. Just make them a little longer so the wider part sticks out of the gimbal bay. Surely more ways to improve. Not having any of this 😅

Wish I would have seen this before purchasing, kicking myself in the ass later will be fun. I did notice though that essentially the AG01 gimbal has the 2 aluminum pieces built into it. Adding the plastic insert is like adding the aluminum drop piece. adding that with the ag01, is like slamming the living heck outta the gimbal. The best you could do is shave the plastic piece as thin as it can be to hold the ring in place and hope you gain the clearance you need. I'll be trying it... I think... NEVERMIND.. after trying this I realized my stock gimbals with the led ring hit. My stock gimbals with both metal plates hit. The ag01s hit all the same places just worse. With no plates I still had to adjust the stick endpoints to keep it from bottoming out on either the gimbal itself sticks down and out or the case down/up and in.

What was hitting? The “stick”? If I saw it correctly.. they are “thick” barrels.. most of the length .. Remove the “grips/tips” and see if they still hit.. if not..your good and just add “tips” to ur gimbal sticks..
