Holy shite, 79.99 each, or 129.99 a set. They seem really nice and if they fit the QX-7 or the Jumper T-6 I would probably get them. I think I paid 29.99 each for hall gimbals for the QX7, but not that quality.

Pro tip; if you still have your Radiomaster TX16s foam case it comes in, you can flip your radio upside down in it and work on the back without your nice new gimbals rubbing and pushing into the table.

So, to make things more respectable money wise, get the lesser priced version and add the metal gimbals? Gotsta have toothpicks for precision grease applications, qtips for clean up. Or a mini zip tie works super.

Nice video! I love the look and probably the feel, if I could afford them. Mine actually didn't have that flex problem you showed at the beginning of the video, and the bending of the plastic faceplate is made moot, when they are screwed to an aluminum CNC faceplate , which is what my Max, and yours also has. My gimbals actually feel better than my old Jumper T16, so I won't be replacing them ,unless they break. Yours might be the by-product of inconsistencies of production:-)Then, I will be faced by the decision to buy these. If the radio is still in good operable condition, than I would probably pull the trigger. But so far, all is good with my Radiomaster T16S Max, and I love it. Love the fact your doing setup and programming videos on the T16S. Keep up the great work!

Have the TX16s "new color edition", haptic motor mount was broken out of the box. Added the CNC kit and several screw holes were stripped or posts cracked from factory, had to use lots of bigger screws to reassemble. But also anyplace the "grease" had got on the plastic it was was crumbling, like locktite does to PC. Got it working, but because it does not fit my hands have gone back to my X9D+. If you interested I will make you a deal on a very slightly used TX16s, am in North central Florida.

Oh my GOD!!! The gimbals on a $1200 radio are better than the gimbals on a $180 radio?? :D They dang well better be! I had noticed the flex on the gimbals of my TX-16s. To compensate, I am VERY careful when I do a calibration and have even gone into Companion and tweaked the calibration data to guarantee a +100 & -100 resting position with no contact with the stick. Other than this, the original gimbals are very good. I can't say that I have noticed any effect from this flex (or other minor flaws of the gimbals) in flight. Still... I am now very tempted by these new gimbals. I really wondered about these gimbals when I firs saw them a few days ago and am glad/unhappy to have seen this video demonstrating their differences. Yes, I am somewhat of a gimbal snob even if I may not have the skill level to truly take advantage of the better hardware.

Now that I Bought a Radiomaster T16S, I could sense a small difference in the gimbals between those two. Stuff just keeps getting better. T16S is the best radio I've used. I just got the tx16s mk2 jb edition. I've fully limited the travel or throw of the gimbals using the front adjustment screws but it's still too much for me. Can I further limit the travel from the inside of the radio/back of the gimbal?

Bad things happen once you go too deep down the rabbit hole of a hobby... If your not careful you will be seriously out of pocket and not much happier.. I must have spent 3000 over the space of 2 years on this gadget and that gadget.. Pretty much all of them are in a big rc gadget box in my room and ill admit i've only probably used 1/3 of them, that's probably a stretch just to make myself feel better here !!!

I have been having problems with my radio since I purchased it. My throttle is doing the same thing. But I have a FRSKY Xlite radio. I just wonder if it would work. Thanks again for the update.

I’ve found X-lite can be weird about those gimbal adjustment screws in the back. I backed mine all the way out and then put back in making sure to use the correct length adjustment screw per FRSKY manual. Recalibrate and have been good for months now.

do these have those middle gap transitions like all other gimbals when tightened?

M9R on x9. I personally use the R gimbal on both side because I like the shorter throw for pitch too. Even though its minute.

The reason why the wires are run underneath the others is so they do not get caught in the gimbals. The throttle/left gimbal should probably be run under the first and second set of cables.

I just tested the gimbals in my TX16S (carbon fiber faceplate version) and I get no flex at all. They also don't jitter and I have the ADC filter off. I did just get it a few months ago so maybe that's why?. Running EdgeTX on it. I do really want these gimbals. Sucks they cost more than I paid for the radio but I'm gonna get them. Probably going to have to wait until next year though with Xmas coming up and hopefully getting my Steamdeck soon, my budget for hobbies is tight.

What I can't seem to get an answer on from anyone, including radio master is if these new gimbals have the same temperature drift issue the original ones did
@ZuNunchaku
@ZuNunchaku 3 жыл бұрын
what temperature range did you talked about? this gimbal (and another hall gimbal) will tend to drift cause by temperature because magnet get weaker/change based on temperature. but afaik is not much at all. so you probably dealing with massive temperature range.
@roborrock7945
@roborrock7945 3 жыл бұрын
@@ZuNunchaku Actually we are talking about normal operating range (25-30deg C), and its bad enough that it can stop your motor from arming and the throttle does not get low enough. One of the EdgeTX developers tracked it down to poor design, a resistor that was too high and poor magnet orientation. It's led to EdgeTX supporting the much better flysky gimbals in the TX16S
@ZuNunchaku
@ZuNunchaku 3 жыл бұрын
@@roborrock7945 if it cause by poor magnet orientation or resistor it will NOT cause a drift. Just a non linear reading. If you talking about drifting (change overtime/not repetitive value) so either cause by magnet (orientation, placing, etc) or plastic deformation or something like that or noise/cross talking from the cable that cause magnet interference.

Do they solve the drift issue tho? The FlySky gimbals are another CNC gimbal to use for this and they DO cure any drift problems.

Joshua, you need longer throttle fingers and skinner screwdrivers, especially the screwdrivers, thay was painful to watch the wrong sized tool being used. I must be a little weird with the sticks, I reverse the heads so the knurled section is facing the gimbal, and the cone shaped collar is all the way up, to make the sticks as long as possible for a greater length arc for the degrees of movement, for as fine a granularity of control as possible.
