I'm pretty much a carnivore who consumes a lot of grassfed meat and pastured eggs, but also take EAA's and I also weight train and I'm in my mid 60's and have no problem building muscle and maintaining my muscle mass.

Max thanks for doing these sort of episodes. You definitely expanded my diet tool kit. It helps me decide how much protein to add to my diet despite the advice I get from doctors who don't seem to understand that we need more protein as we age not less. I'm 51, and have lost 71 pounds, mostly of fat, over 3 years period and I've managed to gain muscle , even while going though menopause by getting information from platforms like yours and others you've appeared on. The haters, they make ya famous. But know most of us love you, and most of us thank you for what you do.

Coming from someone that has a PharmD and a variety of experience I so appreciate that he did not cherry pick the science to his benefit ..and he nailed it with keeping his bias aside. One day 💜 ill put together my guide of essentail supplements as you age and now I am convinced to add EAAs. Open to collaborate. Max you are in amazing shape!!! You have a chance to compete with Mark S. in the future.

But EAAs do also have caloric value, do they not? So if I take that much of it while trying to hit a deficit I might not be in a deficit anymore

Is the leucine threshold dependent on body weight... I'm only 78 lbs... still need 2.5 g???

For everyone out there that made it as far as protein needed during a cut, just know, if your cut is over the course of months and not a month. You continue working out regularly and eating sufficient amounts of protein many of us can still gain muscle with the right stimulus. Not saying an essential amino acid supplement wouldn't help it most certainly would post workout but it's not necessary in most cases.

It’s essentially a multivitamin/multimineral!! If you can’t get enough nutrient dense whole foods, it’s a viable supplement!!
