It's more likely foreshadowing John's decision to stand his ground and give himself to the army so his family may live and not run away like he has his whole life and put em at risk again, than anything to do with Arthur imo. Again, headcanon is fair, but factually, Arthur no bearing on RDR1 at all.

Everyone always seems to forget that John mentions having seen someone herding before when Bonnie asks if he has ever herded livestock before. That someone of course being Arthur.

Imagine a full remake of red dead redemption 1 with 4k and updated textures with unreal engine 5 with 60fps and References to Arthur and some of the old gange along with new end game content and dlc i guess a guy can keep on dreaming of such greatness

they don’t use unreal engine 5, just rdr1 with rdr2’s engine, and a few references to rdr2

In a way, Dutch’s final words to John in RDR1 are a reference to Arthur in that Dutch had realized his mistakes and that his life is not as good as it should have been if he had listened to Arthur and Hosea. But in RDR, a 2010 game, it has nothing to do with him and is more likely on John's life experiences and foreshadowing his sacrificial act at the end. The only way it's a reference now is through headcanon where one retroactively ties the line to Arthur in their head.

I feel like it's just Rockstar working with a few things John said to give Arthur a more cannon ending, which would have been Arthur saving John regardless, so they used what John had previously said to be able base something off of the 1st game into Arthur

​@@themadtitan7603TECHNICALLY it would still be a retcon since they had went back in time to create the prequel, so a bunch of information had to be retconned, like a bunch of the blackwater massacre in RDR had more gang members killed or something and they retconned it to being 2 and later Davey as well but maybe he wouldn't have been in the papers, stuff like that, but with this it could be a retcon in a way that allows what John is saying to reference Arthur staying for John, if you think about it probably way too hard

Wow I hope in RDR3 they show allot of Gang Members who wasnt mentioned & Callander Brothers also London Ricketts since he prob Saved John at a Young age but known very little about him also the Shootings in Blackwater

Agreed. The game came out in 2010 and was written even earlier, the line won't be a reflection of anything outside of its own story and themes. The only way it's a reference is via headcanon.

The reason why Arthur was never mentioned or barely mentioned in Red Dead 1 was becuase Rockstar haven't made Red Dead 2 so Arthur doesn't exist yet.
