I think they don’t list specific gpu, ram, storage and psu models because of 2 reasons. One is because they probably just buy the cheapest parts that companies can offer them within Lyte’s specifications (for example they got the cheapest 4090 they could find because that’s all they really wanted). Another is because most people buying a pre-built wouldn’t care as much as people who would build it themselves, so they don’t want to put people off too much by using abstract names like “Strix” or “Windforce” or even “Aorus Master” since it’d throw them through a loop. They just say what’s most important. It would be better for us PC nerds to know exactly what you’re going to get, but for the average consumer, they really don’t care and that makes it easier for Lyte.
@Hello-ig1px
@Hello-ig1px Жыл бұрын
i think you are 100% wrong. The real reason is because they can only provide what was on sale when they were buying the parts. Look at this way, they list their GPU to be Founders Edition and the RAM as Corsair RGB. Then all of the founders edition GPUs and the Corsair RGM RAM is temporarily out of stock. This would mean that THEY CAN'T SELL ANYMORE PCs UNTIL THE ITEMS RESTOCK. When they don't list specific parts, it gives them a lot more options. If the Founders Edition GPU goes out of stock, they can just buy a Strix or Gigabyte card.

I’m not condoning Lyte with their issues …. But it’s not easy to meet a high tier reviewers standards when it’s easy for them to tear shreds off them for minute or big errors. Yes Lyte can correct issues, adjusts quality checks etc….. the main thing, as mentioned, is that the company listens and does the right thing. We’ve seen many PC Techtubers who build PCs rip into other SI or system builders etc….. yet in turn have their own builds critiqued and errors found. Yes people should get what they pay for, but also not be unfair about manufacturers when mistakes can be made by anyone!

I've never had an issue with Ibuypower PC's, they offer something similar to what you show. They do post they have the ASUS prime board. I checked their prebuilt, and had to customize it with extra case fans and change the power supply, and it brings it up to about the same price. INTERESTING ENOUGH, they give a disclaimer price once you put it in the cart. It says the graphics card will not be in the computer, but shipped in its own packaging to protect during transport. Looking at the video you have, when you pulled out the foam packaging I cringed a bit as I saw the graphics card move slightly. Given that is half the price of the system, that gave me some heebie-jeebies. Very nice video you did though!

FYI, Lyte is not legally allowed to go through the initial Windows setup. If they do, you the customer did NOT accept Microsoft's Terms of Service. The wireless drivers missing were because Windows itself did NOT have them. It had nothing to with Lyte.

If I remember correct, whenever you buy a pc from a company WITH windows on it, they are not allowed to pre-install it. Yes, they can put it on there, but not go through the proces of setting it up. In this case it seemed like they did set it up. Maybe a somewhat slight misrepresentation, but I have no clue if companies go through the entire setup proces

i really admire and respect you Ed. my experience with lyte was 50/50 i spent a large amount of money on one of their higher end models and even selected a few upgrade options: more storage, RAM that was listed as corsair and RGB cables. what i received was oLoY RAM and i know it’s just cosmetic but still a gripe i thought i would be receiving strimmers but RGB was totally misleading as they are not lights at all they are literally red green blue and yellow cables… in addition to this customer service strung me along as it took maybe a month longer than the expected date at purchase and after calling a few times i never received an update or any kind of apology for the egregious delay and lastly i don’t understand charging for a windows install if i also had to buy a windows key…it’s not like they gave me the install usb

@Snoozynana Nice. Another thing I would suggest is making sure all your pc parts are on the same tier list. I noticed a lot of bottle necking with their builds. For example, they have a r7 7700x cpu with a 4090 graphics card. You definitely want the best cpu you can get if you are going with a 4090. Samething with a lot of their motherboards subpar with their other parts.

Hey man love the video, I'm actually a builder at lyte tech, and yeah you have some very genuine concerns. First off the website, needs work 100%. I cant tell you how many builds I've gotten with parts that don't fit, but then again we only got one guy working on the website. Second the boot time taking a long time is also an issue for us, its new gen cpu and ram so according to my coworker, its ram training, try updating your bios. Admittedly we should do this but we haven't gotten the updates yet. Third, yes it was special built, Ive never seen that aio in my life, I think they had the builder swap it so that it has more branding on it. I appreciate you not holding back on criticism a lot of these issues need fixing imo. I just cant really fix them. It is cool to see one of the builds I do at work on this. Armory should have been downloaded, obviously its not to big of an issue for someone like you who knows whats wrong, but it is a decent problem for someone who doesn't. All and all good video

After watching a few of these build with DDR5 that does seem to be the common case for now. Hopefully in the future new mobo bio make this not so long but at least not something to be too scared about.

Hi Edgar, I really love you videos and I recently subscribed I love the Setup Wars they give me motivation everyday to build my own dream setup , but it’s been really tough I had to relocate and move and I left my old setup (Which was just a ps4 and a tv) back in my home country. My mom and dad can’t really afford the pc and equipment for me to build a decent setup because I want to become a content creator and on top of that I have been hacked on all my Gaming platforms and I really hope you see this comment. Keep up the good content you always bring me joy ❤❤❤

I'd be worried about putting that bend in the GPU power lead, this was causing overheating and i some cases a fire at the connector, when bending the power cable for the 40 series of GPU's.

Just buy a good 3rd party cable. They are less stiff close to the connector and work fine.

I have an order for a 4090 build from cyber power pc. Living in Hawaii it's hard to get alot of parts, so for me it made more sense going customized prebuilt.

Hey Ed! I have a question about the mousepads, so I want to order one but when I’m checking out it won’t tell me when it will get here, so when do you think it might come, but if you don’t know what the average time then that’s ok

I personally bought prebuild Pc with 20series card (from a different company), and it is okay. Nothing ground breaking, but the price was nice. It had couple of issues, like usb connectors were upside down and hdd instead of ssd.

As a fan and tech lover I wouldn’t recommended the pre-build. I would save up part by part and waiting until eth in stock. Either way Ed made all the good points about buying it if u wanted to.

Oh no, they left power options on Balanced. Dude i thought that you are a little more knowledgeable about PCs. There are thousands of videos about this topic and every video proves with benchmarks that you don't lose any performance on Balanced mode. The only difference is on laptops, where in Balanced mode you get a little more battery life. You don’t really need to enable the “High performance” power plan. It won’t make your CPU any faster. Your CPU will automatically ramp up to top speed when you’re running a demanding game. High Performance may just run your CPU at a higher clock speed for longer, which would generate more heat and noise.

Very honest video, I recently bought a pc from them, and they sent it with their aio instead of the Corsair aio I requested, aswell as installing their fans, that do in fact not work well. Had the one on the aio quit on me so I replaced it with a 120DL from Corsair, imagine that it’s amazing now 😂 they offered a refund and change out on the fan but only if I send the entire pc in and I’m simply not doing that
