It's definitely worth the peace of mind tbh, i personally have an i3 12100F, a 4060, and 16 gigs of RAM, and it plays everything at maxed out settings, even the likes of Cyberpunk 2077 with Path tracing it plays it very well thanks to frame generation, and of course i play on a 1080p 60hz monitor.

@@test_account939 I would say only upgrade if you want or need it. Usually the wants are not aligning with the needs, so usually your wallet decides it. Or the need! I am rocking on a 1500X cpu (+16GB Ram), but of course my main rig is a beefier one. For what I need It's usually an overkill (the main rig), but sometimes I need it, so it comes handy. On other days the 1500X is doing fine for daily tasks, learning, playing and entertainment (music and video)! Amazing times we live in! With a 6 years old cpu you can still have decent performance for some tasks, not like in the 90's where a 2 years old machine was obsolete, but completely! Enjoy your rig, until you feel you can't enjoy it, because of reasons.

Respect. This is an honest system, not a hotshot KZbin 'review samples' machine - despite there being some of that in pieces. I love the fact that your setup remains functional, humble, and cost conscious. Also, a thing that a lot of folks forget is that 'how you game' has a big effect on what's right for each of us. Not sure what you default to on your own time - but I don't do competitive eSports, first person shooters, or AAA 'open world' stuff too much (Ok, I like Grand Theft and Red Dead, but - honestly - I have those on console...). I roll with cRPGs, and some Indie/Retro titles. Yeah, I occasionally play the Witcher series, or mess around with the whole comic book adaptation - but I just don't need a 4090 or RX 7800 type card. I do like style so I collect some older cards, most of which CAN STILL DO WHAT I DO. I find myself on the CPU bottleneck, a lot - Baldur's Gate 3 is a prime example. My favorite way to play, however, is with an Arc a380, Pentium g7400, and a 75hz CRT at 1600x1200. That's not my 'normal' computer - which I rarely, if ever, game on (eh, it's that tinkering side, as you'd say). I keep the main system fairly recent to let my wife have a hassle free situation with maximum rewards for someone who just beats the damn game regardless of the settings. Me, I meander about and explore... both in game and component wise. So, hey, thanks, man. Keep on keepin' on.

Nothing wrong with spending money on your hobby - the main thing is that you get fun and entertainment out of it. If that's from the hardware itself then great. Maybe it's a UK thing, but I don't know anyone here who has a "high-end" system and upgrades regularly - so long as it does what you want, we tend to stick with what we have. Also, Happy New Year to you, and yours! And we need more Jack Russell in your videos! LOL! OK, I am a bit biased, as I have a Jack Russell Terrorist myself! Have a great day, Sir! o7

I went 7600 with a B650E-I combo and 2x32GB 5600 RAM, stuck it in a tiny Chopin Max case and overclocked and undervolted it, including the iGPU. Then I stuck a 140mm Noctua fan on top, squeezing another 8W from the CPU. It's a fun, portable build! 😼

Man I love your content so much but at over half a million subs, I would think you could have one of every gpu made in the last 5-6 years on hand to do any comparison test as you need to. Certainly from the 10 series onwards. I know a KZbinr who had a dozen cars including three Ferraris before he hit half of the subs you have, so you definitely have the money.

My 2021 build of 10600k + 6700 xt (GPU upgraded in 2023 from GTX 1070 Ti when prices became sane) seems to be a match made in heaven, should take me through another year at 1440p 60 fps (ok, not Starfield) if the parts do not fail. I do like to separate general purpose PC from gaming, because I often pair the gaming PC with the TV in the living room, so it does not stay at one place always. The "basic" PC is a R5 4500 with the 1070 Ti, which as I have found, is no slouch at 1080p for most titles up to 2020. Latter does have 32 GB RAM because I am running several containers/ VMs for personal dev projects, whereas the gaming rig is at 16 GB.

Pretty modest. Nice! I've got a even worse PC with a i7 6700 and RTX 2060 but you know what? It does everything I want and I can play games and work on it, it just werkz! You inspire me to start making videos about hardware, but if I were to do so I'd definitely focus a lot more on budget builds due to where I live hahaha

I really appreciate what you do on KZbin and I appreciate you as a human being. Your videos are accurate, well executed, down to earth , no bullcrap kind of thing. And you are a cool modest person. You don't brag with 4090 unobtanium GFX cards, RGB acid trip mobos and cases, and CPUs only rich kids and overgrown man babies can afford. You keep it real and I like you man !

once i've stepped upon YT channel called ''affordable gaming'' or something like that. rtx 4090 + i9 was featured on that channel and when i ''confronted'' author about it he said that he uses best hardware and doesn't care. makes sense. respect to you and your approach.

Always liked how modest your builds are. Most people don't need a mega pc. Especially since most gamers are just playing Overwatch, Valorant, Fortnite, etc. You dont always need the latest hardware to have a good time gaming!

Just a heads up. I'd avoid ebuyer here in the UK. They'll do anything to avoid a warranty claim. I sent back a motherboard that went faulty. They said there was nothing wrong with it, then shipped it back to an address that wasn't even on my account and I haven't lived at in 5 years. Needless to say I lost it entirely. They lost a big customer that day as they wouldn't even own up to their screw up at all.

Agree on the ram. To improve 0.1% lows it would be wise to add another 16gb kit. That's what I did this Christmas and now I have 32gb :). Will be using this setup for years. I have i5-10600kf and 3070.

On the topic of DDR5 DIMMS, the 8GB DIMMs if I remember right use x16 ICs, you should see 4 chips on one side, these are cheap basically but are slower than DIMMS with x8 ICs when repeatedly accessing data. The 32GB kits with 16GB DIMMS should have 8 chips (x8 ones) on one side and will perform better even if you don't need the full 32GB.

I've run an R5 2600 and RX580 8gb for the past 5-ish years. A week ago I upgraded to a Tier A PSU and RX6700xt nitro+. People kept talking about bottleneck, my CPU is OC to 4.1Ghz and ram to CL14 3200mhz. on 1080p I'm averaging 100fps on most AAA games. the rx6700xt was for $320, for a nitro+ I couldn't let it go and as long as I'm maxing out everthing at 60fps+ I'll be happy for as long as it holds that much performance for. Currently replaying all the games that bullied my RX580.

6:35, I bought a 7600 yesterday as an upgrade from my 1660S OC after using NVIDIA my whole life. The 7600 was 50$ cheaper than the 4060. Now a few things: 1. Their AMD software I actually like with all the options it gives you, ill just need some time to learn my keybinds and get muscle memory to all the stuff. Tho I do really wish there were a setting like NVIDIAs background FPS limiter (yes Ik about AMD CHILL but it can sometimes limit my FPS in game while theres not much action; tho maybe thats just my experience, so take it with a grain of salt) 2. Drivers were very easy to do and no problems. Used DDU and then just installed AMDs, which all took 5m tops. 3. I got the GIGABYTE 3X version and man is it quiet. Fans turn on only at 55C+(which it rarely exceeds) 4. I suppose the stutters and the 2 game crashes I had will be history once it gets "settled in" and optimises itself, so to speak. 5. Id love to hear other AMD users or people's who have swithced to AMD opinions

I always find a basic gaming pc is more fun to play on. Set it to 1080p high and play. Having a 3090 rig, im always playing at 4k and messing around with settings rather than gaming, trying to get peak performance.

Always loved the humbleness you give and share, your videos have always been very calming and enjoyable to watch no matter the content. I just recently upgraded my case to that exact one you have, except in white!! Love the little temp gauge. I had a question for you though, are any of the sites you do your deal hunting for international at all? I'm here in the states and deals are real hard to come by, I look through eBay, FB Marketplace, OfferUp and Mercari and even then there's so many fake scams!

It's great to see that it's not one of those shiny RGB systems every big youtuber uses. I also prefer these mid range systems over those expensive ones. It's just more interesting to me than just sticking all the newest and most expensive componenets inside. I also use Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB of RAM and 5700XT Evoke, and it's more than enough for 1080p 144hz gaming. And yeah, 5700XT is definitely worth taking a look at today, I got mine for 150 euros just recently.

I have to make a complaint about your videos..... Because of you I built my first PC and I have an i3 12100f with a 5500xt. Plenty awesome for 1080p. Issue was my mom bought me a monitor as a job promotion gift. She is not too keen when it comes to resolution. So now I have a 1440p LG Ultragear she got at a ridiculous price. So of course I wanted to game at 1440p. Now the same PC has a 12600kf and RX 6800. The other parts are making their way into a spare PC I keep at my mothers for when I travel across state to visit. Point is I hate that your videos have me spending money on PC parts now because I am addicted now lol. Keep up the great content. Cheers from across the pond.
