Hey I'm from Monaco ! Thanks for making this super cute video, Just a few clarifications: Monaco is actually a country. It is governed by the Prince and has a government that is elected by the Monegasques (The citizens, just like me !) and we are only around 8000 of us. It is, in fact, a tax heaven because living in Monaco frees you from paying taxes to the government, which are in fact paid thanks to the SBM, which is the group that owns the Casino (and some hotels and restaurants), which created Monaco. The "little next-door city" you see from the gardens are actually a neighbourhood of Monaco, it's called Fontvieille, and was actually build on the sea, just like the construction work you can see from the Starbucks, which is planned on being another extension of our tiny country. And Monaco was created thanks to a guy who dressed up as a monk and faked his way into the palace and claimed himself Prince hahaha Hope you enjoyed it xxx

Hi Ena,Do the native Monagesque have enough space?Do they resent the rich immigrants driving up the real estate prices? Can they afford to buy houses in their own country or are they moving to France? Please answer and Thank you.

Truth Seeking French person who grew up in Monaco here. No. Monegascs are the most privileged people on Earth. I don’t mean that in a harsh way, it’s just a fact. ANY monégasque is entitled to a “logement domanial”, which I guess it the equivalent to social housing. Except it’s really nice flats. There’s literally some monaco social housing in the Odeon Tower, which also has the most expensive flat in the world, to give you an idea. And the monegasques have to pay rent, but it’s actually somewhere between 1/10th and 1/3rd of the actual real estate value of the flat in question. In general, the monegasc government gives a TON of legal and financial privileges to its nationals. You can’t just open a business in monaco without authorization from the government. And you’ll never get authorization unless you have a monegasc partner in the business. You can’t just hire someone in Monaco. You have to announce to the government that you are creating a position, and then they send some monegasc candidates which you legally HAVE to interview. And if you don’t like them, you have to come up with a reason why you’re refusing them and instead hiring the outside candidate you actually wanted. And the reason can’t be something like “they went to a crap school”. It has to be an actual job requirement that they don’t meet.
