Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge. The tree of knowledge gave us Consciousness which comes with Ego. The reason why its called the knowledge of Good and Evil, means you have the ability to discern right from wrong for your own self. When you eat from this, you become like god which is why one of the verses said “they become like us” having your own sense of reasoning. And that leads to Sin because humans try to be their own God, ego gets involved, and we make our own choices based on what we believe is good and bad. And its not like humans werent simply experiencing life, it was almost like a dream state of consciousness. And now we fight the battle of filing our subconscious and conscious with Christ so we can be almost programmed to seek God. A way of reconnecting a closer union to Christ.

I've heard this before but how could Adam and Eve make a conscious decision (eating the fruit) before they had consciousness?

@ i guess its just from a curiosity type of nature. Like you said, humans in an infancy type of stage not yet choosing a path, but like a curious child, they make decisions from a desire to learn of what will happen. For example, you can tell a child to not touch the hot stove but once you leave them unattended and let their imagination and curiosity run, they begin to succumb their selves to finding out what will happen

@@Esch-a-ton3 it’s quite hard to imagine yourself without a deep level of awareness like you have now. But when you were 2 years old, you existed and made decisions, but werent fully in control like how you are now. Having vivd memories of doing such things but not having a profound sense of awareness to where you made logical reasoning on your own. More or less just curious reasoning

@ yea pretty much. Death comes with ego because ego is not eternal. And you are not your thoughts itself but the one observing your thoughts and until you willful change the patterns of your thoughts your thoughts will be the one in control. I found out how separate you are from your thoughts from almost dying, and releasing i had no emotion towards it. The body and mind was so focused on living there was no noise or thoughts. Just observation.
