Dream bike. I bet that's like heaven to ride. Crazy sportbike power combined with a comfortable riding position, and added torquey fun. Yamaha quality and reliability. It's a killer package!

FYI you can swap the suspension modes while you ride. As well as the power modes, traction control, slide control. You just have to have to let off the throttle so it has no input. Then You can swap every setting on the dash except for the actual "mode" itself. "Mode" being the A-D modes you can set up as individual customized modes. I do this every day on mine. Also c mode is not rain mode that's mode D for 2022 as long as the pwr setting is mode 4. You can ride in "rain" mode while having the "race mode" throttle response and all the rain mode nannies. It's very customizable this year. I know all this because I had one of the first MT-10SPs in the US and have had plenty of time to go through everything.

Do you have to be in neutral to do this? I couldn’t get it for work with zero throttle on the launch (the same way it works on my KTM). Hopefully I get my hands on one of these again and can really delve into the customization

100% confirned. Change whilst riding everything except the preset Mode feature. E.g Rain mode adjusted for full power and stiffer suspension easy. I leave in Mode B as default and custom to conditions when moving. Love this MT10!

@@jackson_foto you can do this in any gear. Just have to roll your wrist forward to zero throttle input. Once you do this the settings on the dash will highlight indicating you can make a change.

Nice review mate, but I wanted to point out an error you made in your cons wrap-up. You said the suspension can't be changed on the fly and that you have the stop to do that. That is only true for the modes, however within the mode you can change most settings including suspension on the fly if you roll off the throttle. I do it all the time and own a 2022 MT-10SP in Australia.

The “mt ugly curse” is definitely in effect. It’s droopy eyes and weird head cowl are kinda strange in photos. (Kinda looks like the Arbiter from Halo)But when you see it in person, and more importantly ride it, you’ll fall in love with its homely face haha

Thanks for doing this, I am not a fan of the mt10 due to the front end looks, but I think everything else it now has, would certainly make up the minds of alot of people. ktm superduke, triumph speed triple RS, MV Brutale or even ducati streefighter v4, if you are talking street/nakeds then those are the ones I would personally want to see.

Love it and looking forward to own one ... No review seams to mention it, BUT sadly the latest generation doesn't have any mounting points for hardcases anymore. The subframe as well as the passenger footpegs don't feature any threats to mount some hardware to. So no more sport touring modded MT-10 builds based on the new platform. I'll be looking for the edgy, trasformer looking predisessor MT-10 SP instead. I value that luggage options more then the 6-axis-IMU for daily commuting. (german Autobahn)

I think it looks like a legit home made streetfighter. A crashed sportbike repaired with flat bars and all the broken plastics stripped off. Probably why I bought one, but I went for the 2022 Tech Black standard model with some nice extras from the options list. I've done maybe 400 miles on it and it's turned heads everywhere I've been on it so far. Especially other riders who haven't seen many of them on the road yet and young teenage lads walking down the street, when my next door neighbour saw it for the first time I thought he was going to climb on and hump it. I've dumped the stock mirrors, fork reflectors and that awful rear fender and added bar end mirrors and a tail tidy, it looks loads better with a few small mods.

Personally I consider anything less than 500 miles a first impression. When I try and create a comprehensive idea of what a bike is like, who it’s for, what I’d change etc I think it’s important to really come to terms with the entirety of the riding experience.

100% it is as someone that has ridden both I bought the Tuono instead. If you get the left over models (last year model) then you can easily find them cheaper than the MT10. got mine out the door for 12k vs the MT10 would be closer to 15k out the door or more

No! The Aprilia Tuono is a terrible bike. I had a 2018 MT10, then bought a 2020 Aprilia Aprilia Tuono and hated it. I then bought the 22 MT10 SP. It is the best bike I've ever ridden.

@@Sinister_fartbox having worked in the bike industry for decades I would guess your comment is based off the internet and forums or from history…so you ignore Yamaha R1 engines breaking cranks regularly, gearbox, brake and suspension problems and electrical / electronic issues and Arpilla which has a great reliability record in rescent years, even Ducati now have a good and comparable reliability record compared to other manufacturers!? Basically, what I am saying, in reality all manufacturers have their issues in equality be it European or Japanese. Most even share the same components on mass.

FAULTS: 1) ZERO internal storage, not even for a toolkit, (which Y doesn't provide). I don't wear backpacks. 2) Why that single headlight? not for America please, and ALL the LED lights on this bike are teeny-tiny; regardless of how bright they may be, drivers (and DEER!) won't notice you enough. 3) Sorry, that NOSE is simple UGLY. This is one bike that is screaming out for a "GT" version. Other than that.. I WANT one.

Why do the exhaust pipes always look rusted? Can't they have even a small guard on top of it to make it look clean? It ruins the look in my opinion.
