I hung out with Phil for a day and I can say at least from my experience he is a very kind person.

@traceyrychewhite1874 he was definitely very funny. Like a class clown. He was kind of trolling us all night. We talked about music a lot. He seemed to be just as interested in talking about my music as I was to hear about his. He told us some funny stories about dime. It was a great experience. He had just gotten sober from alcohol also.

Imagine using heroine to cope with your back pain all your life, and getting tattoos like “unscarred” and “strength.” The guy is just a junky with a tough boy personality who single handedly broke up one of the best bands ever, only to shamelessly reform it later as a cash grab.

He is no longer a junkie. And the hardcore alcoholics in Pantera didn't have anything to contribute to the tensions in the band, it was all Phil huh??? GTFOH

Phil was the reason for all the problems. He then comes back at the end when no one is there, to act like the hero, and do nothing more than grab cash. What a loser

If you read Rex's book he points to Vinnie having major ego as part of the problem too. Phil was the reason for the problems we read about but I'm sure there were others. They all had egos and all had drug and alcohol problems plus the egos and drugs and alcohol of the people around them. What could go wrong?

His addiction issues led to Dimebag getting killed onstage. Dime wouldn't have been there because Pantera would've still been going on.

Addiction or not, Phil was getting burned out with Pantera. You're saying if he was clean his interest would be 100% with Pantera? Stupid ass way of looking at it. Bands slip up or take hiatuses all the time. You can't force someone do a gig they have no desire for. No one could have predicted what happened to Dimebag that night.

What you're saying must be true, then! 🤔 The fact is, if Phil hadn't been the way he was, he wouldn't have been burnt out with Pantera, Dime wouldn't have been on stage with Damageplan, and both Abbott brothers might be alive to this day, considering Vinnie essentially died of a broken heart. Dislike what I said all you want, but that doesn't make it less true.

@brentalanadamlandgrave7635 everyone in that band had extreme addiction issues, everyone was burnt out. Rex had pursued other projects with Phil all while being a hardcore alcoholic, does he contribute anything in this because of his addictions. And to say Dime wouldn't have been on stage if it wasn't for Phil is laughable at best. If Phil was going to quit the band and move on (which he didn't up until that point). Dime and Vinnie would have moved on regardless, because that's who they were and what they were about. Place the blame where it is due, how about the government and the Healthcare system that paid no attention to a Veteran that showed signs of being mentally ill although all the warning signs were there. Can't stand the people that try and blame Philip for what happened with Dime, ya'll always talking about "if he didn't say this.....or if he wasn't strung out"........blah blah blah. Doesn't change the simple fact that a mentally ill person that thought Pantera stoled his music, fell off the deep end and killed Dime in a heinous act of violence. Nothing Philip did or said had anything to do with it, and to think otherwise......is foolish.
