I feel like the Diablo Immortal part is missing some critical context. It wasn't just that they were making a Diablo game on mobile, it's that there hadn't been a Diablo game in a long time and fans wanted D4. Blizzard, in general, had been declining around this time and many saw this as an opportunity for Blizzard to get their footing in the gaming world again. Instead they were given a mobile game no one asked for and, based on the reactions of the crowd, no one wanted. The "Do you guys not have phones" part just made the general feel of the game 100x worse.

When coney's talking about not being able to commit to any games at 5:55 or somewhere around there, I can relate super hard, especially to games that are available via subscriptions like game pass. It's one reason I've refused to buy the extension to the Nintendo switch online subscription because even on the SNES games that are on there, I've started like 8 and I haven't committed to finishing any of them. I just know it would be the same for the n64 or Genesis games.

To be fair... I won't touch a lot of the Sega ones. But I speed play the NES/SNES games [MOSTLY while activating TRUE nostalgia neurons]. And with the 64 games, it's more just "Man, I definitely remember this one for sure." Like I'm almost done with Mario and Mario Kart so I'm gonna slog through Banjo-Kazooie probably starting in February. But, on my XBOX? HOLY COW. Almost 4 terabytes worth of games. And I play like... 5 major ones. Lol. If I can start streaming this year I'll probably get through more of them.

If the graphics opinion replaced "graphics" with "artistic direction," I would agree with it. Graphics usually mean highest resolution. Like Minecraft has mass appeal, but the graphics are literally giant blocks with square textures. But it's iconic because of the style they went for.

With the Dark Souls vs. FF one, obviously people will like different FFs more than others, but I personally think 6 has the best story. For example, you can partake in an optional bit of character development where your party literally goes inside of one of your other party member's minds, and you defeat his inner demons to release him of the guilt of his wife and son dying. I haven't seen any other game approach a character's inner struggle like that. Of course, there's a similar sequence in 7 where you go inside Cloud's mind, but 7 also came after 6, so to me FF7 in some ways feels like FF6 2 if that makes sense. Basically I'm saying that FF6 established a formula of making interesting stories, mind blowing music, new combat mechanics, and unique and well developed characters that future FFs would build upon, and for that reason I feel like 6 is the pinnacle of FF, with 7 and 9 completing the triumvirate of amazing FF games.

Coney is WRONG about fishing! There are some good fishing mini games out there, it's just that most are lazily made. Wii play fishing is godlike and fishing is great when it contributes the the game experience as a whole like Animal Crossing or Fantasy Life (amazing game for the 3ds play it if you haven't)

yeah but in those games fishing is basically a quick time event that has a certain chance to pop up right, so you're basically just waitingggg until a QTE pops up. l feel like thats a pretty bland way to translate fishing into a game. WiiPlayFishing is cool, but wiiplay is more of a minigame-collection than an "actual" game if you pardon the phrasing, so while still a good implementation of fishing it feels like a different context to me :]

Regarding the smartphone marketplace, I feel like it's kind of a circular issue in regards to just. Marketing. Because like, the ones most likely to take advantage of it are indie developers, right? Established game companies aren't likely to do it, for reasons related to marketing, contractual obligations, or because they want 50 million polygons in one eyeball. So if the most likely source of full games on phones are indie, think about the marketplace. There's a lot of places you could sell your product. Websites that let you host and ask for money, you can go onto Steam, you could even get yourself on Switch if you have enough clout, and, of course, the app store. But what places are going to get you the most sales to make it worth your while? Websites are most likely to get you profit, but lack visibility, Steam has visibility, but asks for an extreme cut. The app store, I'm not familiar with profit shares on it, but imagine how hard it must be to get visibility on there. It's so flooded with free to play games that are cranked out near daily, because it's such an easy pay model. Impose arbitrary restrictions, forcing people to wait for hours, or pay to skip the wait to make numbers go bigger. And there's SO MANY. Which can hurt your sales as an indie dev, because nobody is seeing your game amidst all the F2P slosh. Or if they do see it, they might not even give it a second thought because it's amidst so much slosh. Which goes back to it being a circular issue; I feel that people don't upload onto app stores because they fear not being seen amidst all the garbage, which results in nothing to compete with the garbage, which makes it fill up with more garbage, thus emphasizing the first point. That's just my take tho, if someone has input regarding marketing on various storefronts that could debate this, speak up, I'm curious to hear.

If I say "Hamburgers are bad to me," while you can technically argue that that's a fact, because Hamburgers are bad to me, but it's really just me clarifying that my statement, "Hamburgers are bad" is an opinion by using the phrase "to me." This guy, doesn't do that. He says "Seikro is bad because I don't want to learn how to parry." All this is, is an opinion backed up with a reason. Unless you're saying that this is an opinion because the "to me" is implied through the "I" statement in the reasoning, but the statement "Seikro is bad" on it's own is still an opinion, and even with the argument that the "to me" is implied, calling it a fact is still kind of a technicality.
