The best time to fish a SW Florida inlet is now. The water temperatures are heating up and multiple species of fish are beginning to move into, out of and through major passes along the gulf coast. In this video I'm catching Sheepshead, but there are Spanish Mackerel, Redfish, Snook, Ladyfish, Bluefish, Grouper, Mangrove Snapper and many other species of fish in the inlets right now. All of the Sheepshead I caught on live shrimp, but there were other people using Sand fleas and catching them too.

JC, you're having more fun with that cheap rod and reel than most people have with the most expensive equipment. I'm done buying expensive walt water rods and reels... Too many have hit the sand and the bottom of the ocean. I'd rather just buy inexpensive and not worry so much. Those are some tough fish. Caught a keeper size Thursday that had 1/2 or the upper mouth. He was still nice and fat and had no problem eating my shrimp. Their bite can be extremely light. I have to watch that I don't let them swallow the hook.

Greetings JC, enjoying your videos, glad I found your channel. I'm relatively new to the area, live in Largo, and am trying to discover good, productive, from-shore locations to fish. So many of the FB groups simply mock and abuse you for asking where good spots are, hopefully, it's different here. You mentioned the "Jetties" - Where exactly is this video taken, I'd love to give this spot a try.

@@RadReelingFishing Thanks for the reply, but that's the problem I was talking about. What about local folks that are here now and need to learn some good spots but don't have the time to spend days and days of trial and error trying to find them. The result is a lot of discouragement and disappointment and dry lines sitting in the garage. Maybe you should add a hot spot tips line for your members or patrons - it would be a good way to build your channel and not let the cat too much out of the bag. What do you think?
@RadReelingFishing

@@LarryCramerVideos Thanks for sharing your views. I teach people how to catch fish and why those fish are in certain areas. I've already shared with my viewers on several occasions recently that it's spawning time for Sheepshead and they can be found in the major inlets right now. Basically, any city in SW Fl that has a major inlet is going to be holding plenty of Sheepshead. I have no interest at all in sharing a fishing location or city I'm in with 30,000 subscribers which will soon be 100,000 and eventually grow to a million. I don't have any interest in selling hot spots. You might enjoy watching this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gXfXeKxuoqh-qKM Thanks for commenting.

J.C. good video as always. What species do you consider the best tasting? Also why did you mount the "puck" on the back of your kayak? Would it work better closer to the trolling motor? I was thinking of mounting mine next to the seat and closer to the battery. Thanks.

Any idea why they prefer the shrimp with tails broken off vs on? Can they see that it may not be able to escape without a tail? Seems odd.
