30 years later on his deathbed he still looked at her like that. And then 50 years later in heaven when Rebecca died he still looked at her like that. Everyone should have someone who looks at them like Jack looks at Rebecca.

I love how this show made a truly realistic ideal man. I know that's an ironical thing to say but he's flawed yet perfect in all the ways possible. We've many ideal on screen mothers and wives, it's refreshing to see a male role model to look up to.

There's a bit in "the good place" where Michael says "It's not important whether someone is good or bad, what is important is that they are trying to be better today than they were yesterday" - and that seems to sum up Jack's character.

They do show his flaws - His struggle with alcoholism, but yeah his character is shown as a little more closer to perfection.
