It's just despicable to start a war in the modern age. There are so many ways of resolving problems. America was in an agreement to Ukraine to supply them with troops. I blame fully the current white house which is weak when the world needs strength to uphold alliances of peace.
@Jkim890
@Jkim890 10 ай бұрын
The current White House isn’t fulfilling 100% of their previous promises, yes. But I still feel that they are doing a fairly good job with supporting Ukraine. Balancing military gains with political gains is always hard. Yes, there is much to be gained when it comes to withholding weapons vs sending them too early. Now if you think this is unfair, I agree. I personally feel that Ukraine ought to have gotten more a lot sooner. But if you think that is stupid, or that I am stupid for feeling this way, then I suggest you first do some research on the opposing view as I have already done. Really, supporting Ukraine is almost a perfect situation for the US foreign policy goals. And a very large portion, or perhaps even more can be done without risking American lives.

I learned to appreciate things like hot water showers and toilet paper, there were times we ran out of one, and low on the other. Every sheet was precious. As for being in complete darkness, its novel at first, one gets to see every star in the sky, BUT can't see three feet in front of yourself. There were many a night i found myself bumbling around a forward base with only my hands feeling the walls to guide me to the latrine due to "light discipline" meaning no flashlights. It wasn't so bad when there was a full moon out to light the way, but that only lasted a couple nights. Still, seeing the Milky Way in all its glory is something I'll never forget.

Screw this war. (And war in general). As coincidence would have it, over the past year I've befriended a teen from russia, from somewhat near the border. Even from that perspective the war is harrowing. (Though maybe this is an inappropriate place to share this?) I hope that the war will be over by the time he becomes an adult and "luckily" he should be safe from drafts due to health conditions .... but even then .. he doesn't support the war (though his older relatives have been buying into what the TV says saddeningly much), there's only so far we can talk about anything before it becomes too criminal for him for it to be smart smart to continue yet the moment it's about Belarus (and its "tsar") and he can talk there's a glimpse of what must be unsaid ... and the other side is the impact of all of this having the name of all of russia on it. By default if someone talks about people of you're country, you're going to include yourself. And now a certain someone has dragged the name, flag, and country so much through the mud that reference to it is often associated with indirect death wishes. I personally agree with russian forces being pushed back until the border is restored, but damn is it hard to explain to a kid why folks are wanting hus people dead. There is something to be said for the russian public being vaguely involved just by not doing much against it. The only options either of us have thought of though .. end at either the army division tasked with suppressing protest .. or in a larger scale military suppression (attempt). I hate how this one person doomed two countries worth of people to have their future be death or death if they try to end the bloodshed or get even a smidge unlucky. That said, apparently the doctrine now has also gotten a class in schools .. a lesson "talking about the news". I'm probably missing a lot of perspective, since I only know one side of dozens involved in this. Let me know where that is the case if you notice. Until then: *fuck war.* The moment that comes into the mix it stops being about logistics or skill or resources .. but about people dying, no matter what happens, and innocent people being made into killers. I hate that.

I run a preparedness / prepper forum, we knew it was going to happen after the winter olympics so we had plenty of people watching. Links to livestream cameras started coming in and we saw advance units 4-6 hours ahead of the main force, then the armor columns. We were up all night broadcasting the #s of armor and their locations. Daybreak it was chaos seeing all the people trying to flee. Traffic was more than jammed in many places, cars abandon.... missiles flying over civilians, civilians on the front getting shot indiscriminately. At hour 25-30 a noticeable umber of videos were scrubbed from the internet in general and videos from ARMA3 and such started popping up and things just became a mess, where we quit broadcasting movements. Deeper in, they knew russia was invading over a year in advance. All of that over more energy / control over energy in the broad picture.

watching for war was also me, though in a bit safer country. Everyone around was like "haha russians attracking, crazy paranoid" and I was just watching bunch of stuff and city webcams on 3 monitors, playing dark souls while waiting. Then hitlerP came out with his crazy speech and bombings started. Probably got ptsd from all that war prediction stuff as I can no longer play that game even. Also experiencer 2014 war , but that was more trough a media, not that much online sources like now. There was no city cams and people just streaming shootouts

As a Czech, I've heavily supported Ukraine from the very beginning and I've continued to do so throughout the war so far, and I don't plan on stopping any time soon. I wish aswell more countries would get more involved, helping as much as possible. The former eastern bloc knows the best how its like to be under Russian occupation, which is why it doesn't surprise me as much that they have so far been most supportive. For example, my country Czechia was the first to send T-72 tanks to Ukraine. Only after total victory is achieved, will peace be brough to Ukraine. The west in general needs to do more, just like you've mentioned in this interview. Sláva Ukrajině! Sláva vaším hrdinům!

@@FunnyLeosVR Hi! I'm glad you got to read my comment too. I sometimes think of you from time to time wondering if you're still safe. Stories like yours add more to the entire situation then just a "US vs Russia buffer zone conspiracy" type shit you see on the news. People reading such articles often don't realize there's people just like us dying for absolutely nothing. Russian aggression isn't anything new on this continent and it absolutely angers me seeing the amount of people fall for their propaganda because hating on the west became a trend. In my honest opinion, it's only a trend that is undermining our democracies, making us weaker. Which is exactly the reason why we should stand up to Russia and show our support for Ukraine. It's very concerning, to say the least, knowing the US would limit its aid packages because of populist politicians such as Trump, Desantis or Vivek. Despite Ukraine fighting the exact same fight the US fought when they wanted independence. In any case, I could go on rambling about politics for hours but the thing that matters the most are the civilian lives, people like you that only want their nation to exist and prosper. I hope you can stay safe during these times, and remember, the (sane) western world is with you. Much love from Czechia ❤

Sadly, can't say that situation became better because at the same time as foreign aid shrinks-ruzzkies are attacking and capturing more territories. @@FunnyLeosVR I too am in disbelief watching especially the Americans stop aid to Ukraine. It makes completely zero sense to me. Their excuse of it being ""too expensive" is the worst joke I've ever heard because quarter and a half of the cost they announce usually goes to funding the paychecks (and tech) of those that work on NATO machinery right outside of Ukraine, to be able to provide Ukraine with intel. Even if the "money" (cost of the tech) mentioned goes directly to Ukraine its usually a lot older models of such vehicles. (Such as the M1A1 Abrams, and or the Leopard 2A4) The absolute worst is seeing politicians like Trump or Ramaswamy who even suggest appeasement, I'm pretty surprised our president hasn't talked about/raised his voice about that yet. It honestly offends me to a certain extend. One thing I have to say that I'm happy about though, is that majority of the European countries keep supporting Ukraine despite what Washington D.C. thinks or says. On another note, thank you for speaking up about this. I believe people who don't live close to or in Ukraine have no clue what its like to live in a war and so the media must show at least some humanity in this conflict, which it has so far failed. And so stories like yours always help a slight bit to remind people its not just statistics. Have a great rest of your day and stay safe man!

I kind of supported both sides at first, but then I had a horror dream where I was an exchange student in Ukraine and the dorm I was staying in Kyiv was being evacuated by firefighters as bombing was going off in the background. I ended up sleeping through the evacuation and I was left all alone in the dorm in total darkness. I felt so much terror from this that we take our freedom for granted

What sucks about this war is that a lot of if not most of the Russian soldiers don't want to be there and are being villainized by the world and everyone seems to be reveling in the death of these young men who are just as much a victim as the Ukrainians. It's a classic tale of rich and powerful waging war while the normal people and the weak are killed victimized murdered and then take the blame for everything the higher ups do.

The majority of Russian soldiers? Sure. But early on in the war, there were entire towns of people-- women and children, who the Russians brutally raped, executed, and left their bodies in the streets for the Ukrainians to find. That sort of thing should make Russian soldiers rethink whether they are the good guys or not. Most Russian soldiers are innocent, but they are still following the orders of a corrupt government and a fascist president.

Not really. Most russians are ok, that their country invaded another one and most russian soldiers are ok to go to Ukraine and shoot our people. It is not a "big game of politicians, where no one can do anything", but a genocidal war.

Most would surrender if that was the case, and would not want to be sent back to russia in PoW exchanges, but do you know what is happening? They want it. If it truly was the the most, they would be joining the Russian Volunteer Corps and the Russian Liberation/Freedom Army also known as "Svoboda". Truth of the matter is they really are no different than the nazi soldiers. They only "don't want it" when they are getting their ass kicked. And as for those that fled to countries like Armenia, Serbia, etc. when the draft became a thing -- most of them were Zs until that moment, too. People that brandished that they were Z do indeed want it.

You're right, but i was 13 when it all started and being a child basically you don't understand what's going on and whole seriousness of the situation. And this new stage/escalation/invasion from all directions is something different. That day in the early morning on 24 ferbruary, those distant "claps" turned out to be anti-aircraft systems taking down as much missiles as they could. At least, i think so, i might be wrong. But this is my personal conclusion based on personal experience.

On Asov battalion(IDK how to spell it that may be misspelled.) It feels like a massive unknown on whether or not they are currently nazis. Even 7 months after this video. Its been a while since ive read up on them though so feel free to call be an idiot for saying this lol. Also near the end he explains that he has hopes and then the reality of what ukraine will become in the future. Sadly i believe that a pessimistic outcome will likely be the case. The weapons, the drones, the tanks, the aircraft, the money, the infastructure that countries are giving ukraine right now for free. When the war end countries like the United States are likely going to hand Ukraine a massive bill for the things we gave them to help them fight. We have done this before. One example is how long it took Britan to pay off the bill we handed them for rebuilding their country after world war two. The U.S. gave them this money in 1945 and they made the final repayment on that loan in 2006... I can't remember the name of the other country i was gonna list as an example but we basically had them in indentured servitude for 100 or so years. Ukraine will likely be working toward paying that bill for the U.S. alone for entire generations.
