That end conclusion hits very true. The reason why Ayato works with split scaling is that he scales 100% on Attack but scales another 20% on HP as a bonus. If you completely ignore his HP scaling and put everything into attack you get a good hard hitting character, as a bonus every roll that doesn't go into DEF% but into HP% also helps him regain some damage and it doesn't go completely wasted. IF they want Xinyan to succeed they have to revisit her scaling, not like 50% ATT and 50% DEF, but more like 85% ATT and 85% DEF multipliers, so you can go choose to go one stat only and still do good damage.

I play her as a Burst DPS and she has great damage because of C2. My biggest issue is the AoE of her Burst (the physical part). It sucks! Even against a single enemy I feel like you cannot consistenly always hit with the Burst if the enemy makes even the tiniest of moves.

About that Charged Attack thing Chode talked about in the beginning, it no longer works as of the release of The Chasm update on PS4. They fucked the way the menu wheel opens, now with it having a 0.5 second delay, and now also ANY BUTTON that isn't your attack button will interrupt your Charge Attack. Edit: Grammar and spelling fixes so you won't have a stroke reading this.

Another thing, there was the Klee E bug since the beginning of the game which allowed you to stack CWoF to full almost immediately despite only having 2 E casts. It existed for 1,5 years, then Kagura came out which was also affected, and the bug was swatted within a patch. Watch us getting a proper spin2win based character and the bug getting finally fixed 2 weeks later.

For me, her biggest issue is that she's a physical character who can't proc superconduct. Making her shield scale off of attack wouldn't change the fact that you still need two other characters just to allow her to reach her full damage potential.

What about Raiden, Eula, Xinyan, Clam Qiqi? the team have superconduct, phy dmg buff, another phy res shred, burst buff, and cryo resonance. Even Clam damage will be higher than normal, let alone Eula damage. And you can run Xinyan on lower ER and go all for Crit dmg. Or forget Cryo resonance and build her for EM Overload on top of everything else

For me, Xinyan is one of those characters I pick when I don't know what to expect. She can hold her own pretty well, although her DPS is not so big. Klee for example will dish out more damage, but she is so squishy I can't risk her if I don't know enemy attack patterns and shit.

I don’t think Mihoyo can ever get away with nerfing but they could do better at bringing a couple of the horrible characters up a bit. The only reason why I say they won’t need anything is because people spend money on the characters and the community would be justifiably in a fit of pure outrage.

@@user-os3ml4uu6i then we're in for a treat. Ayato's nerf coming in 3.0 and electro reverted back to 2.4 version on the next update ( ingame notices) . We all remember how electro was in 2.4 right? So they cannot change characters kits by some law over there, but by changing the programming of elemental reaction thay're basically killing Ayato and Raiden in one shot and go away with it legally and financially.

in regards to the video ending on the ayato comparison that he as "double scaling" instead of "split scaling" what if we look at xinyan the same way, the defense is only a bonus, it's not her main thing, which would mean she isn't meant to be a bruiser but a support+sub dps and against small fry you can beyblade them all... still nice to see you can make her strong enough with split scaling artifacts to be viable in the "hard" content if you wish to :)

The problem is her "support" part is is tied to the shield which needs all the defense to get from wet tissue paper to just tissue paper. So when you treat defense as just a side bonus, she becomes a 3-second long support.

I love xinyan for my pyro kazhua. kaz swirls pyro over any other element. and his c6 makes his normal swirl. xinyans shield pulse's and applies pyro really well and keeps the perk up on the alley flash sword wich the highest attack 4* sword with an em sub stat for more swirl damage.

Xinyan is best with Rosaria, Bennett, and Fischl/Raiden support. Sara works for buffing Xinyan’s burst too if you don’t mind less superconduct procs. If you have Rosaria c6 though then you don’t need electro because Xinyan and Rosaria have enough physical shred between them both.

In terms of Xinyan's shield strength isn't bad, in fact it seems to be the 3rd or 4th strongest shield in the game. Since Defense scaling on shields is a whole lot better then HP, unless that character has high base hp and high shield numbers overall (You know like Zhongli..) In terms of damage absorption if you were focusing on such a thing with Xinyan, It's a lot stronger then you may first think. Noelle's shield is obviously much tougher (I'd even say a proper built Defense Noelle would even have a more durable shield then Zhongli himself.) But Xinyan's shield is no push over the only bad thing about her shield is the fact it's a pyro shield... Elemental shields in general are less reliable overall, due to how the fact elemental shields are strongest against the corresponding element while Geo shields are made to be durable against all elements (This is also one of the other reasons why Thoma's shield is just bad). Elemental shields need a buff in some sense since they have nothing to stand against the power of a Geo shield, no advantage at all. You could make it so While under the effects of said elemental shield you obtain immunity to that element overall. Meaning if you have an electro shield the electro element can't activate on you meaning you then become immune to any electro related elemental reaction. Since the electro can't apply to your character anymore. Doing this would give elemental shields at least some sort of edge over the power of Geo shields... But yes Xinyan shield stronk if properly built. It's still a meh though.
