I agree that his method of delivery leaves a lot to be desired, but the actual science is unifying and should give the opposite take away. Beauty IS averageness and therefore sits right in the middle of all of us. The most beautiful are the most average. The most divergent also have value because many attach desire to those unique traits and seek them out (just look at the "having a massive rear end is uber sexy" trends the last decade). So everybody wins. Combine that with the fact that we see each other based upon our feelings about each other actually allows people to see us as more (or less if we're mean) attractive than we actually, scientifically are. Ever seen a very happily married couple and wondered what they see in each other? Most have and the answer is to be found in their relationship and what they do for each other. Sometimes that's money or fame or prestige or artistry or talent or innate goodness etc... Be a good person and don't worry about it. Beauty will attach to you I promise. Whether you are Christian or not, this profound truth should impress everybody that Jesus "having no natural beauty that men should him desire" became the King of Kings and drew the love and devotion of billions.

It's fascinating to see how some people confidently assert that beauty is entirely subjective, and overlook the undeniable historical and cross-cultural evidence that challenges this notion. Let's consider a few points: Firstly, let's take a look at the ancient world-figures like Cleopatra of Egypt and Helen of Troy have been celebrated for their beauty across millennia. Cleopatra, often depicted with distinct makeup and elaborate adornment, was considered the epitome of beauty in her time, not just in Egypt but throughout the Roman Empire. Helen of Troy, described in Greek mythology as "the face that launched a thousand ships," was deemed so beautiful that her abduction led to the Trojan War. These examples show that certain standards of beauty have persisted and been revered for centuries, transcending the idea that beauty is merely a cultural or temporal construct. Even more intriguing is the fact that beauty standards while they do shift, often return to certain ideals. The symmetry of features, clear skin, and healthy appearance have been valued in many cultures throughout history. This continuity suggests that there's more to beauty than just passing trends or personal preference-there’s something underlying that resonates universally, even if we don’t all agree on every detail. Whether one uses makeup or not, the fundamental aspects of what makes a face attractive-symmetry, proportion, and youthfulness-remain the same. Makeup might enhance these features, but it doesn’t create them from scratch. To argue that beauty is purely subjective is to ignore the reality that these features have been celebrated across different eras and cultures, regardless of how they were highlighted. Models and even child models today, like Thylane Blondeau, who was dubbed the "most beautiful girl in the world," reflect how certain features-symmetry, proportion, and clear skin-remain universally appealing. Philosophers like Plato and Kant discussed beauty in objective terms, with Plato linking it to a higher form of truth. Scientists like Darwin even explored how attractiveness could signal health and good genes, essential for survival. Psychologists, too, have shown that we are innately drawn to beauty. Studies reveal that even infants show a preference for faces that adults consider attractive, proving that some aspects of beauty are hardwired. So while personal preference plays a role, it's clear that beauty isn’t just "a type"-it's a complex interplay of biological, historical, and cultural factors that we can’t ignore. Lastly, let’s not forget that even from a young age, certain children are often perceived as more attractive than others by their peers. This isn't about societal conditioning-it's an instinctual response to facial harmony, something that exists long before cultural norms have taken hold. While personal preference does play a role in what individuals find attractive, calling this "just a type" diminishes the broader, more complex understanding of beauty that has persisted through time. So, while it’s easy to dismiss beauty as entirely subjective, the evidence suggests otherwise. Beauty is, in many ways, a blend of both objective qualities and personal preferences, shaped by both our biology and our culture.

That's why building relationships is so important. Because we use each other's appearance as an avatar, we hold onto those biases long after the actual appearance fades. This is why old married couples still see each other as the most beautiful despite being old and hideous.

there already are. - Loose fat and get very fit. as it will sharpen your face and jaw - get on a low sodium / medium to low carbohydrate diet, since you retain a lot of water in the face. You already are 80% there with only those two for some months. the rest would be sleep well, manage stress to get a healthier look as well.

it depends of trends lol I remember the times when thin eyebrows were more attractive over the 'full' ones. also different cultures has their own long-term trends for beauty standards that can be REALLY different. we have no idea what actually beauty is, just reference to the trending beauty standards, so more looking trend-alike = more attractive

Once again, there is no measurement in beauty. Everyone is a work of art. It's like your comparing a classical and academically accepted painting to an impressionistic but academically rejected painting. Do you agree that the one accepted by the academy is the beautiful one and the other one less beautiful? Of course no because we know that both are equal and unique in beauty and it is so unfair to compare them. We all know that beauty is value but we forgot that everything has their own beauty and people are BASING how beautiful something is based on people's appreciation. Remember, not liking it doesn't make it something ugly. It is what it is and your impression doesn't change the value of it.
