Cartel betrays its members all the time., ie just yesterday heard a story from a sicario how he discovered his lawyer (paid by cartel) made practically aure he would not get out of prison. Other times cartel sacrifices his members by feeding them to the police, so the police can claim a success while cartel members who really matter to the cartel stay unbothered by the police and federal forces.
