Thanks for watching! Yes, part 2 will come Thursday and I'll show the story timeline of the photos as I grew the books! Being able to use all the corridors makes such a difference. And no one ever goes to any of the other units in my row, I think they must just be all long term storage tenants. I put the music on and have stuff in and out everywhere :)

Awesome video Mel, thanks for showing us behind the scenes! I’m in the process of dealing with my storage unit full of bulk lots of media I’ve picked up too. I’ve been putting the books, VHS tapes and DVDs into tubs, labelling the tub, taking a photo of the label, then laying out everything from the tub on a piece of corflute and taking a photo of the spines. Then at home I look at the photos and enter all the titles into Google sheets, research prices and work out what to sell individually and what to sell as bulk. Can’t wait to see how you grow in 2021!

Just a suggestion to help with the death pile. I think it might be extremely beneficial to get a spreadsheet that tracks inventory. I know the guys at hustling hooks KZbin channel have a great spreadsheet they offer. I think maybe get something like that and then just commit to a certain number a day. The spreadsheet will keep it managed so you know how many of a certain author etc. Just my thoughts. Love the channel. Keep up the good work!

I am not sold on the free postage, if your book sells for $12.95 and your paying $8-$9 postage even more for larger books and paying fees, that's a lot of sales for chicken feed. I don't have an issue selling books and charging Postage.
@backfromburnout3 жыл бұрын
Some books I do charge postage for but most of them I do with free post. And I try not to have books in my store for $12.95 but when you get them free or for next to nothing it’s still worth listing them. But most of the books in my stores are worth a lot more then $12.95. I sold one for $200 a couple weeks ago. The books vary in price a lot and my sales certainly aren’t just based on the cheaper books. But the cheaper books do sell and bring constant activity to the store which is a benefit. :)

multiple eBay stores @ $20 per store per month. Isn't that a risk? How can you be sure you will recoup your fees? And, as all your books are 2nd hand, how many do you simply throw away as they're not worth trying to sell?
@backfromburnout3 жыл бұрын
I'm having no trouble paying fees and storage as I sell books in volume. Some books are cheaper but I also sell a lot of more expensive books and sets. I haven't had to discard too many books at this stage. When I choose books myself to sell I choose them carefully and have learnt what sells for me. When I buy in bulk then sometimes it can be hit and miss and some I may need to pass along. But buying them in bulk I get them so cheap I can account for some books being discarded.
@rockyjaydog64473 жыл бұрын
Well obviously you have too many unlisted books. I started out selling only postcards. But my earnings per piece were so small I was making a dollar an hour. I think the word used here is pivot. Can I pivot if my plan is not working? Can I let go and start over which is what you did.
