When I got the got the snapper fixed, I found out good friend of mine needed a small mower for the same reason I use my Ariens for small gates. Being I really didn't need it, I gave it to him to use.

My son just bought a 5.5 acre farm and was looking for a zero turn mower. Based on your experience, I told him to avoid the Ariens and to make sure he got a deck that was sturdy and a size that would fit through all the gates he needed to go through. He also had a budget and of all the options available in his area, he got a Toro and has been very pleased with its performance so far.

Looks to me like yall baby that Ariens. My Scag I do not. I abuse it. Not like your keyboard Karen clip of course. That and your Hercules clips cracked me up. My mower gets rough housed quite a bit mowing some nasty stuff and extremely rough ground on occasion. But after all the abuse and misuse it still mows like the day I bought it 4 1/2 years ago. Hoping yall get some more rain out there. Were supposed to get some the next 2 days here in Southern Illinois. Take care yall!!!

@Garciaboy80 Thanks for watching. People "THINK" we abuse it, but as you can see, and as I've tried to explain to them, WE DO NOT. This job is a PRIME example of what we use it for and how it is treated. Kind of puts into perspective what I've always said. It's a POS. We run the 🐕💩 out of our Gravely's, but this Ariens would fall apart if it were used in that manner.

I had major problems with a Gravely Pro Turn 160. The mower was fine. The Yamaha MX800V engine was garbage. I got rid of it at 87 hours. My dealer allowed me full price paid towards a new Pro Turn 260 with a Kohler ZT740. It has been trouble free and is at 255 hours.

@melparr1139 Thanks for watching. I don't have any experience with Yamaha engines. All I've ever had was Kawasaki engines, other than the Kohler engine that was on the Craftsman z6400. I'm glad your dealer was willing to work with you on making you happy, unlike the dealer I bought this machine from. They didn't even want to talk to me. That's why, after 22 years of trading, I went to a different dealer.

@@douglasgraham1916 Thanks for your support. Yes, we do when space permits. With small properties such as this, it's difficult due to the confinement of space. We try to go different directions each time we cut.

In your opinion is the Gravley ztx 42 a better quality zero turn than the Ariens ikon 42 ?

@Papabob63 not really. Except for a few exceptions, they are identical. The Gravely has a heavier frame, larger tires, and slightly more hp. If I were going to buy a Gravely, I'd start by looking at the proturn ZX. Yes, even for residential work. If you're doing just your lawn, it will last for years.
