Great reaction. This video was from January 2015 at the Saitama Super Arena. Su was 17, Yui and Moa only 15 and that was over 20,000 people completely under their control. Even at that age Su just looks at the crowd, spreads her arms and the crowd opens up for a wall of death (actually several walls of death at that concert as the crowd were in sections. A journalist up in the balcony that night said he counted, I think it was, 21 circle/mosh pits). 'Road of Resistance' is a very positive song, it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way. It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow. Any similarity to DragonForce that you heard was real - Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for this song and recorded the guitars for the album version. It is the only one they were involved in. Oh yeah at the end they were shouting "We are ... BABYMETAL!" they always end their shows with this - it is all encompassing. They are not saying "we are Babymetal, adore us" or whatever, they are saying "We are ALL Babymetal - the girls, the Kami Band, the stage designers, the sound and lighting engineers, the choreographer, Kobametal the producer and (in their eyes perhaps most important of all) the audience, the fans. Everybody involved is Team BABYMETAL and part of the family.

This was part of the Trilogy Of 2015, live at New Year Fox Festival - Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, by this time their fame was already high due to viral success on YT of Gimme Chocolate! MV, people from all over the world attended this live concert in Japan, and 20K souls witnessed this epic moment. With only 15 and 17 years old this moment will be forever remember when they're performing this song to reminds them all the support they got from their fans no matter where they go, either a small or big stages. The Kami Band here are magnificent set of elite musicians whom were send to help with the metal sound, they rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarists). They are: - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums. - Takayoshi Ohmura, god of guitar, he's Míkio' Fujioka's pupil (another beloved Kami Band guitarist who sadly past away) and a prodigy child, you'll see his recognizable pink guitar. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but his fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. - Hideki Aoyama, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene. At the end of their shows they always said "We are BabyMetal!" with the crowd, to making them sure that they're part of this show and project too, is a line borrowed to X-Japan saying it at live concerts too. Next suggestion; - Headbanger!! live at "Legend 1997" (2013), you can find this clip safe to react at Gans Tomas under Head Bangya title. I've paid attention to and loved drumming for over 50 years and I can honestly say Hideki in this performance puts in one if not the most powerful, driving, earthquake worthy drumming I've ever heard. It is a wonder every time I hear this.

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🏴 🏴 🏴 "Stand up and shout, Shout!, Justice Forever!" - (Road of Resistance) Pretty much a master class in audience control. BABYMETAL believe that if a song sounds too much like one genre, then it's not a BABYMETAL song. You can definitely feel the speed metal in this one though. This performance was at Saitama Super Arena (SSA) in January of 2015, with a sold out crowd of over 20,000.

Well, in callbacks and whenever they want to be understood by as much people as possible they use english, even in japan since some of their guests might not be able to understand japanese. Some parts at the start and the end of the show they use the language of the country they are in. I think they reduced the amount of japanese even in their japanese shows. They always expect that they have international fans in their audience. But this is an older show when they didn't expect international fans.

As Jakemuller8626 mentioned in this video the lead singer, Su-Metal was only 17 and the 2 dancers, Moametal and Yuimetal, were only 15. Do you remember what you were doing at that age??? Would you have the courage to perform in front of a giant crowd like that and sing AND dance? I know I wouldn't! At that age, I was one of the most timid guys you'd ever meet. Very shy, and very self-conscious. It took years before I felt I could speak in front of an audience and not get nervous. So I've always been amazed and gobsmacked by these ladies and what they continue to do. One thing I'll point out, you'll notice that this song is COMPLETELY different from their song Divine Attack. ALL their songs are like that, they ALL are quite different from one another as Babymetal likes to experiment and mix different genres with the Kawaii (to pronounce it, it is almost like pronouncing Hawaii, only instead replace the 'H' with a 'K'. So it sort of sounds similar to Kah-why-yee). As for the band. Babymetal actually has 2 bands that perform for them, depending on circumstances and where they are performing. When they are Japan, they typically have the original band playing for them. The band is referred to as the Kami band. When they play outside of Japan, especially in North America, they have what is referred to as the Western Kami band. Easiest why for me personally to tell which band is playing is to look for the bassist. The Japanese Kami band's bassist, Boh, uses a 6-string Bass Guitar. The Western kami band bassist, Clint Tustin, does not use a 6-string.

Also, you got it right, lead is Su-metal, the backing vocal/dancers are Yui (YU-ee) and Moa (MO-ah). They were age 17/15 here. This song sounds like Dragonforce: Correct! That’s because Herman Li and Sam Totman of Dragonforce co-wrote the guitars! The Kami (God) Band: Due to lack of funding in early days, only played encores since 2012, then became full backing band in 2014. In 2019, western Kami Band added to support increased touring. Their choreographer from the beginning is Mikiko Mizuno, who is one of Japan's best and has participated in the Olympics for Japan. And through time the ladies have developed some of there own themes toward dance routines. The ladies are real veterans of this.

Road of Resistance is usually the closer for most of their live sets, so it's their most bombastic and over the top song that sends the crowd home on a high (and exhausted). The guitar parts of this song were written Herman Li and Sam Totman of Dragonforce, which is why it sounds like full on speed metal. The band for this performance was the original Japanese Kami band. The musicians at Legend 2015 were Takayoshi Ohmura (guitars), Leda Cygnus (guitars), BOH (bass), and Hideki Aoyama (drums). This was in the days before they started wearing masks, so you can actually see their faces. The band for Divine Attack was the American Kami Band. "Kawaii" is pronounced like Hawaii, but with a K. This performance is a great example of how much crowd participation is a core element of the live Babymetal experience, which is why we always say to watch them live. I hope you take a look at the comment I made on your "Divine Attack" reaction - I made all of my suggestions there. You committed a cardinal sin: BABYMETAL videos - especially official BABYMETAL videos - are like MCU movies: just because YOU think they're done doesn't doesn't mean that they ARE done. You need to wait until the lights come up before getting out of your seat and with BABYMETAL videos, you need to watch it to the VERY END because it's not over until it's over!!! Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。The crowd involvement (mosh pit, call & response, chant etc.) occurs wherever they go on this planet. This song was played in every show in their 2023 tours in North American, EU/UK, Asia and Australia. The audience reaction is always similar to it in this video. In your video, Su-Metal shouted some words at 14:13 meaning "Bring them on!". Fans analyzed that the provocative shout was thrown at people who had been ignoring, underrating, mocking, hating and even trying to discredit BABYMETAL. That shout may have been necessary in 2015 but not any longer. She has shouted it occasionally since then and when she does, it is with her friendly smile and voice that I love 😄

Fun watching along, thank you! Look forward to more as you navigate their catalog and career, they are so good. This is one of their best performances from the early days, it's just crazy how excellent they were already. In a very early career interview Su-Metal (lead singer) talks about how intimidating metal music was to them when they were first introduced to it, but after seeing Metallica live their opinion changed and they had so many ideas about how to add choreography and other performance elements to it, this was fundamentally who they were as artists from the beginning and it shows in every live performance. Herman Li and Sam Totman created the guitar lines and performed them on the album. How much cuteness can you tolerant?? Try Yui and Moa's auction video, they're 10yo. AND Tweens, Su and her sister Himeka were a duo when they were at the Actor's School Hiroshima. Su's grandmother was a survivor of the Bomb. Dragon Force sneaked the girls into Download to perform with them. Dragon Force as your backing Band, Cool Huh!! The promoter for Download refused to sign Babymetal, claimed they were a gimmick!! Did you notice when Yui and Moa one-armed holding the flags??

I love it! To add an anecdote, I'm 47 and just discovered Babymetal early last year and they skyrocketed in my list. My wife and I got to see them back to back shows in Texas and I must say no amount of watching videos or blu rays prepared me for any of it! Now, seeing them outside Japan in smaller venues you don't get all the crazy screens and fire and stuff, but what you DO get that you can't get there is an intimate experience being very close to the stage. The level of stage presence they have, especially now they've grown up even more is unreal .. the dancing is indeed mesmerizing and very different to watch in person not having to worry about the pesky camera man not staying on them haha. Su's voice live is absolutely insane.. and the level of personal crowd interaction they do now is soooo special and fun! My wife made me shoulder armor similar to their current outfits (divine attack) and in Dallas we were VERY close to them and Moa noticed and smiled laughed and waved. They do such a great job of making the audience feel part of it, and the absolutely insane amount of energy they push through EVERY SINGLE song is unmatched in my opinion by ANY band. It's inspiring and just really really fun!

It's always funny when english speaking people go "I have no idea what they are saying" when they say "We are BABYMETAL" in plain english at the end of this performance. It kind of catches you offguard how much they use english when they speak to the crowd even in Japan. Also the accent ofcourse does not help aswell.

i believe the guitar was written by sam and herman from dragonforce for this one and its damn fire. su is great on vocals. i was lucky enough to see them live this year. amazing show and crowd work even in a small outdoor venue in michigan. id love to go to tokyo and see them at one of these awesome areana shows. their crowd work is insane here

In the interview he explains the difference in working with Japanese musicians vs western musicians. @@rickwagner- Well he Co.plained that they chose this higher speed because they had train for a Performance together with Babymetal for a price ceremony before the Queen. You can easily keep a higher speed for an Album since you only have to keep the Speed for 20 to 30 seconds not for 6 Minuten if you have to play it on stage.

Good reaction. There are three things that always bring this song to mind. On the one hand, the fans... Known as The One (they made us a song in gratitude for the support called The One) we are a little "special". I remember that a few years ago, Metal Hammer did a survey to create the list of the 100 most important heavy metal bands in history... and there we put our girls in the Top 10 hahahahahahahaha. On the other hand, in this song, the guitar arrangements were made by Dragon Force, with whom they had a friendship since, I seem to remember, the girls served as their opening act. When they triumphed at Sonisphere 2014 (I recommend ijime, dame, zettai from that festival to see the day Babymetal conquered the West) the producer of the Download festival said that Babymetal was very good for what it was, but that their festival was not the place for them to be there and vetoed their presence at the 2015 festival. When Dragon Force found out they decided to invite them to go on stage with them and play a song together. Finally, and although it really has nothing to do with this song... (I think I have forgotten the third one hahahahahaha) I take this opportunity to recommend what, to this day for me, is the best Babymetal song: Metali, with Tom Morello.

Was so thrilled to see your return to this epic performance. Your reaction did Babymetal proud. Wonderful enthusiasm, really positive and supportive. You did a great job. I've recently seen a couple of behind the scenes videos with the "ladies"-I use quotes here because-I believe this is correct-Su here was only 17 while Moa and Yui are just 15! These are physically tiny, young females commanding a huge audience, garnering 100% audience participation and doing it with a confidence and power way beyond their years. This is one of the most dynamic performances I've ever seen and I'm old enough to have seen a lot. And yeah the Kami Band of the East here are all Japanese. The Kami band of the West-all American musicians-played on the last video. p.s. by stopping the video where you did you missed one of the most charming moments you'll ever hear in metal. Just saying and I'm sure I won't be the only one. No shade just letting you know.
