Well done Mark, to your question, broadly, pots for a new tank, tissue for an established tank. Small plants in a new tank when nutrients leak and plant load is small too easily turns to algae issues. But, in a tank with lots of mature plants, tissue plants can be easily overwhelmed, so care is needed in my experience.

I've only used 2-3 potted plants before, and they did pretty well. If I had to choose, I'll go with tissue culture plants, because 9.5 times out of 10 they grow well in my tanks. I've only had 1 plant melt so far (AR mini) but it came back almost 3x its size!

So in my opinion tissue culture is quite a bit better due to (at least in my experience) the typical faster adaptation to aquatic environment. However I tend to buy a lot of potted ones because they are cheaper and usually provide more plants(at least bigger ones, especially for stems, so I can just chop them in small bits) :)

They should really set up shop in malaysia. The weather in highland areas like Cameron Highlands and Genting Highlands will be truly conducive for the plants growth. Not to mention their much lower operating costs? I am sure there is a huge market for Asian customers

More into tissue culture for some reason i always get alot of melting with potted plants unless i bought submerged ones.
@KnorrAquatics2 жыл бұрын
Do these plants melt back a lot? It seems since the plants aren’t always in contact with water they’d have trouble adapting to submersed state. I’m not trying to be negative or anything I’m just curious

Yo MJ, today marks 1 month after the start of my dry start java moss aquascape, and it all went really well with your instructions! However, the moss hasn't covered the rocks entirely (or as much as I'd likd) and I was wondering if I should fill it up and add co2 or just keep going with the dry start (I have some carpeting plants arriving this week too to add to the dry start). So what's your opinion? Should I go the wet route or wait 1 more month with the dry start to achieve my goal?
@MJAquascaping3 жыл бұрын
Hey Arthur! I would fill it up right now and add CO2. The javamoss will probably start growing faster as well, so you will achieve your goal faster as well.
