When Ange came in we were promised a change in mentality, a change in style, a winning mentality... Those first ten games expressed exactly that, the only thing that has changed is that most teams have found a way to resist our attacks and punish us on the counter... Some teams choose to go toe to toe with us or are just defensively inadequate to deal with our attacks, that is where the wins come from. Fact is we are as close to the bottom of the table as we are to the top. We are further away from success than we were last season, so with that in mind, someone needs to tell me how exactly we are making progress. Being one of the best statistically looks great but that clearly isn't winning us trophies, it's not getting us into the champions league and at this rate will have us out of Europe again! And let's be honest regardless of Ange in or Out, that muppet Levy will sack him if he thinks we won't make it into the European places. If you think Gray and Bergvall are going to be game changers anytime soon your smoking crack! These are players that hopefully one day will be good but lets face they ain't Ange signings. If they were we would be seeing far more of them on the pitch, so how much longer do we allow Mr Levy to make these stupid signings???

When a fan base is split on a manager that's never a good sign. All I can say is Levy sacked Poch and didn't back Jose or Conte that are world class managers then Levy brings in Ange backs him and there is no consistency and some of our fan base back an under performing manager when they said Conte and Jose were negative. In my opinion Levy should backed Jose. We scored over 100 goals in all competitions gets us to a final and is sacked by Levy 5 days before a final. How serious are we as a football club? Does it really matter what manager we have in charge? Do we ever have enough quality in the squad? Why back a manager that has never managed in the top 5 leagues? Ange isn't good enough but the recruitment team and the chairman should be sacked as well. We are not a serious football club. Cut the wages down rise ticket prices build a hotel and not build a team capable of winning trophies. Not statues or stands named after club legends. Its the ENIC way.

We interpret what we see from the perspective of being Spurs fans, and we try to make sense of the present in terms of the past. That can lead down some wrong streets. There is no such thing as Spursy. What happens to Spurs happens to all other teams to some degree. There's no dark force hanging out there that turns a player the wrong way just because he's wearing a Spurs shirt. Like every other London based team, they are young men with lots of money and varying degrees of maturity. Where we stand now is with a squad that has good talent but got very young, very quickly. Young teams have problems with consistency and learning to move as a unit and play effective defense. Our manager isn't a new type manager. What we are seeing now Leeds saw with Marcelo Bielsa. Brilliant man, had a unique approach to attacking football, his teams usually gave up the first goal of the game then often outscored their opposition. The fans loved him, players liked him, a really good guy. But regardless of how innovative someone is, gravity still exists on their planet. Football managers have to train their teams to adapt during games and must manage as if they value even a single point. The guys like Bielsa and Postecoglou are very, very smart and motivated but they manage as if there is no gravity on their planet and no value in collecting a single point. It would be a really bad idea to fire Postecoglou. For one thing, he may still have enough in his bag to pull the team up 4th. The league is tight and nobody is taking hold of things yet. You also have the problem that the team is set up to play his style of football. Players have been drilled to play a single way. After you ingrain that approach in players it will be hard to get the same group to head off in some other direction. Best to ride it out and see what happens the rest of the season. It is entirely possible that something clicks with these players and they run a bunch of wins. At the end of the season you evaluate. Now, you support the manager and the players and hope for the best.

After the City cup game, there was an interview with Kulu you had on here after and he said about a game against city “these are the games you want to play and get up for”. I am paraphrasing, but as soon as I heard that, to me it revealed the problem. I think it is that players playing for this club only want to use Spurs to put themselves in the window to get themselves to the next level. So when they want to play well and show their talent against a City or United, they turn up. Whereas they struggle to get themselves up for an Ipswich or Palace. I’m not saying it is every player, but it only takes two or three with that mentality for the rot to set in.

You can usually see managers on the touchline getting very animated and agitated communicating with their players when the game is in progress especially when they are not playing well. Ange just stand like a wooden statue either with hands in pocket or folded even when the team is playing like s…t. Also he’s not proactive to put in fresh players until the match is almost done and over with again with a poor loss. Might as well just sit in the stands.

I think there are two areas to focus on. 1) a much greater emphasis on the mentality of the players we recruit. Too many players very obviously not top mentality monsters. Up for every game and role their sleeves up when things get tough. 2) Coaching staff needs a big shake up in my opinion. The mentality comes from the day-to-day environment and people like Mason don't strike me as setting the right tone. Also, I agree with some other comments about Ange's lack of emotion. I agree you need to have a cool head but I think at times you need to show that emotion to the players (and the bench).
@APS_2000

I would also add, most of the games we have lost are due to stupid individual errors. Romero is not having a good season and you could identify him as being involved in 7 goals we have conceded this year. Also, som casual defending from Udogie at times. But if you look at a lot of the other 'stats', there are very positive signs. Going forward we ware either top or in the top-3 for most stats. I think we are top scoreres in the league! If we could just sort out the defence and stop these stupid errors.

Ben, as usual, is too negative. If we had won that game against Ipswich we would have been third in the league, doing well in Europe and doing well in the Carabao Cup. We panic too quickly. There is a lot of work to do - quite right. But for God's sake don't give up and fire Ange. Otherwise we are back in the 'Manager Panic' format that we have suffered from for many years. The obvious thing we need to fix is the defence. Everyone has been pointing out that we don't defend the far post from corners and free kicks. We have been giving goals away for fun, and it's usually from the same place. Cuti has not been doing well, and the wing backs have not been stopping crosses. Every analyst on the Box and the Web has been saying the same thing. Ange is great at the attacking tactics, but clearly his blind spot is defence. He said as much after the last game. Fix that problem, and we will be very hard to beat.

Nothing to do with tactics, wages, transfers, personnel, Ange, or Levy. It's how the players choose to approach each game, which, more often than it should be, seems to be with a casual attitude. Certain other teams rarely have this problem because they know exactly how to mentally prepare themselves leading up to kick off. Whereas we constantly have to chase games or come out with a different attitude in the second 45. We can't forget this is a young team, but it's also been a problem for a good few years now. So how do you change your mental approach before a game? Not just against the big teams, but against teams we are expected to steamroll? It's bloody frustrating to constantly throw away the chance to move up the table, and yes, we could have been third. But you can throw a blanket over all the teams from 3rd to 13th, it's that tight. We're yet to lose a league game by more than one goal. If you cut out the concession of early goals and turn just three of those five losses into draws then there's your third place, and things suddenly don't look half as bad. Let's all stop playing the blame game as the underlying stats are actually pretty encouraging, with the obvious exception of the L column. We just need to find a way to consistently approach each game with the right attitude and mindset, and that's where the real focus needs to be because - in my opinion - it's the main thing that's holding us back.

Some of the choices in the transfer market have been poor. Brennan Johnson was always a poor signing and then converting Kulu to a CM but then not buying another RW to at least back Johnson up let alone challenge him was another error. Dragusin was big money to be a backup and doesn't suit the system. We needed a backup right back, left back and keeper and got none of them. Big Dom has been a perfect signing and Bergvall for the price we got him was also a good signing albeit for the future but overall the squad is actually slightly weaker with Gio, Skipp, Pierre, Gil and Solomon gone.

To state that we win finish above Chelsea is crazy, top 4 is impossible, we don't have the quality and depth both physically and mentally, take the current 4 out, Villa, Brighton, United don't forget now ALL have much stronger squads and they have real leaders in the squads. Sonny as much as we love him is no leader, the best bet for a leader was Holjberg and he's now gone. To say the team is too arrogant is correct but to say we can get top 4 is unbelievable arrogance too

Come on our full backs are wing backs that was bought for Conte’s system and now we got a coach that plays completely different which makes no sense Amorim was the coach we should have got as I was always saying this he plays with wingbacks and knows Pedro Porro already but instead we bring in an Aussie from the Scottish league 🤦

Either Son is washed or he just isn't feeling Tottenham anymore. He's the Captain but he no longer addresses these losses to the fans. Porro, Vic and Romero try , Maddison sometimes. Something is definitely there at the club and its a mentality problem. Always has been to be honest.

Ben is on the right road. Sim has blindfolded himself. Questions. Who is on our board? Does anybody think they overrule Daniel? Who are our trainers? Who trains Timo how to shoot or score from one on ones? Ange came with no help. He's being let down big style. Not a rant, just pointing out fundamentals.

I think we would all like ange to succeed because he’s genuine loves the club the players etc.But he will be judged on results ultimately he needs to be prepared to change sometimes a back three for example you can’t keep playing the same 13/14 players with the same subs he will end up over playing them and end up with more injuries.we’ve got good players who’s confidence will be affected

There has to be a point where FANS invest in a manager and a proper rebuilding process. The sheer lack of perspective that most Spurs fans have is astonishing: sitting 3pts back of 3rd on the table, doing well in Carabao in the quarterfinal, at the top third of Europa table and this is through 11 league games! Spurs fans are the main reason the Spursy moniker remains, Arsenal went through 3 years of hardship to get to where they are but we CONSTANTLY want immediate success without any of the hardship of growing. CUT IT THE F*** OUT

Look it’s very simple. Shoulda backed Jose and conte! and it would have worked. The defence let us down look how many goals we scored! Then he have an attacking like ange and the attack is even worse!!!!! We do the wrong this at the right time! We even back ange full or get naigelsmen and give me all the transfers! Unfortunately we are going backwards. Ok apart from attacking football what else has changed!!!!!!!

When Ange stared down a supporter walking down the race that describes his stubbornness. You cant in the Prem League play attack and attack and never bring the bus out. Against Ipswich we could of sat back I know it’s ugly but we have the players to counter attack and disrupt the defence. This season will be more about Ange learning the playing language of the Prem League he is learning his A B C s at the moment. He will learn and we need to stick with him you cant keeping changing Managers. If Spurs dont finish in the top six Ange will have one more season and then he will out if the results are not there.

My perspective at the moment is that if we want to win the cups and be in the top 4 in the league we will have to put everything on the line, EVERYTHING including our lives. Because to me we are not lacking the talent, yes we need a bit of variety in our tactics and to strengthen certain aspects in our style of playing but if everyone including Ange hold themselves accountable and take responsibility for what they're doing we will get the results we want. Ipswich's match is already gone now and after the international break we have ManCity, we either eat them up alive or get ready to get beaten up all season long from everyone
