Last week we held a seminar at Boxing Works to raise funds for members of the U.S. Muay Thai team, for their upcoming IFMA Pan-Am tournament in Buenos Aires, Argentina. All of the fighters and coaches are now there, and the tournament begins Dec 15 -- thank you all so much for your donations! Shrimp and grits’s Ingredients 4 cups water Salt and pepper 1 cup stone-ground grits 3 tablespoons butter 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined 6 slices bacon, chopped 4 teaspoons lemon juice 2 tablespoons chopped parsley 1 cup thinly sliced scallions 1 large clove garlic, minced Directions * Bring water to a boil. Add salt and pepper. Add grits and cook until water is absorbed, about 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in butter and cheese. * Rinse shrimp and pat dry. Fry the bacon in a large skillet until browned; drain well. In grease, add shrimp. Cook until shrimp turn pink. Add lemon juice, chopped bacon, parsley, scallions and garlic. Saute for 3 minutes. * Spoon grits into a serving bowl. Add shrimp mixture and mix well. Serve immediately.

That sweep gave me an amazing idea for a follow up in MMA, if you call pull it off. Keep the underhook on the thigh and make your hips heavy in side control, try getting your forearm under their neck before they hit the ground so you have that secured. Now you want to clasp your hands together, and what you are aiming for is them escaping the head lock and you applying the head lock underneith the chin (so instead of an head and arm lock it's going to be a front headlock). Now you want to keep that arm underneith the chin, sneaking into mount by prying your left leg in between your arms, now you can let go of the leg and apply a guillotine from mount. If they do not escape the headlock but keep trying to push their leg loose, just follow their leg with your arms so the headlock gets even tighter. If they do manage to pry their leg loose, quickly adjust with a bicep grip and try going for an arm triangle.

Hey Marco, yes I've heard of 52 blocks but it's all been pretty obscure. When Kimbo first hit the scene, I read a lot of comments saying he was practicing 52 blocks, but I don't think he ever credited his skill to that. How much is he charging for it? I definitely disagree with Lyte Burley's statement saying "Muay Thai doesn't focus on elbow strikes and shoulder mobility," but I would be curious to hear more about the system.
