As someone who was born and raised in the Middle East, pursued education up to the Ph.D. level, and has spent the past two decades in the United States, I would like to share some observations that I have reflected on during my time here: 1. Perception of Superiority: Many Americans perceive the United States as the pinnacle of civilization, often dismissing the rest of the world as underdeveloped or chaotic. However, having lived in the Middle East and experienced its infrastructure firsthand, I can attest that many countries in the region boast urban planning, roads, healthcare, and transportation systems that are significantly more advanced than what I have encountered in the United States. 2. Cultural Disconnection: A significant portion of Americans seem to lack a strong cultural identity or sense of belonging. This can sometimes give the impression of a society that is fragmented or directionless, particularly when compared to regions where cultural heritage and social cohesion are deeply rooted. 3. Selective Compassion: It is striking how deeply Americans can care for individual animals-such as mourning a pigeon in their backyard or dedicating extensive resources to the well-being of pets-yet show limited concern for the billions of people suffering from hunger, war, or systemic oppression globally. This disparity in empathy often highlights a narrow focus that overlooks the broader challenges facing humanity. 4. Double Standards in Global Affairs: There is a pervasive tendency to view similar actions through vastly different moral lenses depending on who is involved. For instance, many Americans vilify certain countries for acts of violence or aggression while justifying or ignoring similar actions when carried out by their own government or allies. The inconsistency becomes glaring when considering the global response to Ukrainian, Iraqi, Afghan, Palestinian, Yemeni, or Uyghur suffering. It raises the question: why is one form of suffering condemned while another is minimized or excused? This selective outrage reflects a troubling bias that can erode trust in America’s moral authority. 5. Power Dynamics and “John Wayne” Syndrome: There is a noticeable pattern in how Americans approach relationships, often prioritizing dominance and control over collaboration. While cooperation is valued superficially, it often comes with an expectation of submission from others. If someone outperforms or challenges this dynamic, it can be met with resistance or resentment. This mindset, which I call the “John Wayne Syndrome,” reinforces hierarchies rather than fostering mutual respect and equality. This list is by no means exhaustive. In fact, it could go on and on, with countless additional examples illustrating these dynamics. These observations represent only a fraction of what could easily fill a list of 100 or more points.
@judykraska4002 ай бұрын
I think, your observations are true, and sad. This is, why this US society is, where it stands today. I am so happy, l do not live in the USA. In Australia are similar syndrome, but still the people have not completely lost their humanity.

In Taiwan, the US is pressuring TSMC to move the production of its new 2nm chip technology to its newly built foundry in Arizona. It is also blocking TSMC from selling chips to its most important customers in China. It’s also applying similar pressure on Samsung in Korea, and chip manufacturers in Japan. Meanwhile, the export restrictions on American companies has caused the industry to go into what the Centre for International Strategic Studies calls a “death spiral”. Not long ago, Intel announced the layoffs of 15,000 employees, despite the subsidies available from the Biden administration under the CHIPS Act. Thus far, US efforts to stop China’s rapid economic and technological development have largely backfired, hurting the US and its allies more than it’s hurting their intended targets.

Absolutely 100% true: I have lived and worked in China for 5 years. China wants two things: -be a strong country internally: end with the country's poverty, -Trade with the rest of the world. And they have understood that if the other country is strong and developed, it will be able to trade with China with quality products. That is why China is helping other countries to develop. If the USA don't understand that and continue acting like the bully in the school, they will lose a huge opportunity. All the countries, including European, need to start thinking about which is their own production, so they can trade with others. This is what China is promoting. The countries that continue looking at their old paradigmas will be out of this global market and thus enter in another dark age or in civil wars. Congratulations for your video!
