My mom was a certified Diver in the Army. She knew lots of Divers who quit simply because they ran in to fish that were big enough to eat a human. I can't even fathom divers continuing to do operations after they experienced these stories.

I worked for Texaco in the late 90’s and we always had divers around to either do platform inspections, or to jet out ditches to bury pipelines in the shallow lakes so ships wouldn’t damage them. We had one diver who had gone on a platform inspection and was descending when he noticed a huge barracuda of close to 10’ kind’ve mirroring him as he descended. Suddenly the barracuda turned slightly then just left in a hurry. The diver was sitting there puzzled when he glanced down and saw a MASSIVE dark shape over 20’ slowly patrolling in the deep. He immediately went back up to the surface and got out of the water. They asked him why and he said I don’t know but anything that makes a 10’ barracuda run like that I don’t want to be in the water with lol

Our diver told us at the time that there was not a documented case of a shark attack on a professional diver, but one had been sucked some down by a Goliath grouper about the size of a Volkswagen bug and spit back out. I would’ve retired from salt water diving quick after that lol.

MARKER#6:00 approx. I cannot believe this is actually being talked about here? Wow!?! I know where it happened too. Along the Catalina Islands. My ex-husband's brother almost lost his life there. He used to do underwater demolition as a Navy Seal. Almost the same exact story that you are speaking right now is what happened to him. Those things pulled out his mouthpiece and because he was so far down he got bubbles under his skin. He also had radiation burns on his legs and face where they made contact with him. He was in ICU for like 3 months in a medically-induced coma. He died a couple of times while he was there and when he came out of the coma and was healed enough. Some six months later? What he told us was so hard to believe but, I know he was telling the truth. He has never been one to mince words. He's a pediatrician now. He still has some scars on his legs some 30+ years later.

Whoa, what he went through sounds so harsh! Thank you. I heard of an incident near Catalina of two lobster fisherman and one was eaten by a very large aquatic crocodile/dinosaur like animal. The survivor reported that the animal appeared shortly after a breach in the ocean floor, temperature change. It also attacked a ship and it was covered up. A dew claw was found embedded in the wreckage, it was about 10" in diameter. The Navy sent out dolphins to destroy it. The surviving diver left town under threat. I believe it was early '80's?

I'll never forget him telling my sister and I to never swim in the river as he had seen catfish as large as a volkswagon bus coming to the top to turn on the surface. Then we heard stories of divers refusing to go down over at the dam due to catfish big ebook to easily swallow a man playing around the locks at the bottom of the dam... my granddad wasn't one to lie either...

My brother is a yacht captain. He was taking an 83’ cutter rigged sailboat from Jacksonville Florida to St. Thomas USVI. A few days out in the Atlantic Ocean in the middle of the night something picked up the boat and spun it 180 degrees around. The crew sprung up and the deck was dry. Not a water spout. It was something under them. They made it it the Virgin Islands and there was no damage to the hull. Just scuffs. They didn’t see anything that night. Whatever did it was soft or it would have damaged the boat. It was the SV Mustang.

I have Thalassophobia. And i wont stray to far from shore in a lake because of it. I once saw a giant fish or snake surface at the lake i grew up by. It mustve been the length of a school bus. We lived about 150 ft from the shore atop a hill. Growing up my parents would tell stories of a giant fishlike creature in the waters and that all the lakes in the area were connected by underwater tunnels. Edit: i grew up in North Eastern Alberta Canada. There are no lake sturgeon here. And when we would set nets (because its our native heritage and right on the reservations we reside) there would be strange fish i could explain away such as some sorts of salamanders and eels. What i saw on that lake was something so big it wouldve taken the net with it.

There is a well known story regarding a German U boat submarine during the Second World War that was supposedly attacked by a Sea Serpent off the Scottish coast. A British Royal Navy Ship came accross the Submarine on the surface of the ocean which they thought was strange at the time. As they approached, the German sailors where gesturing for the Ship to pick them up. Most of the German submariner's along with the Captain, were interviewed and they all provided the same account of a large Serpent attacking the U boat, to the point of where the Sub was forced to surface, however it did not stop there, the Serpent then continued its attack the Submarine on the surface, and so the U boat captain ordered that the main cannon be fired at the creature in the hope of deterring it, which seemed to help. The Royal Navy ship confirmed at the time that the majority of the German Submarriners where very distressed, and that the main submarine Gun turrent was damaged beyond recognition as an actual Gun due to the Serpent attacking it

I love ocean and underwater stories and deeply enjoyed this one! I think that if any otherworldly creatures were here, the ocean depths would be a great place for them to hide since it's so unexplored. There're so many reports of divers seeing strange things, and of people seeing UFOs submerge underwater, and rise from it. Creepy ocean stories are some of my favorites; there's just so much mystery. Apparently When a oil company was extracting oil from the gulf of Mexico there were submersible ROV's used to view leaking oil stacks, study wildlife in the area along the seabed, and monitor certain life forms considered important by those who were responsible for their existanc. "Deep Water Horizon" was the title for the rov operations further identified by a "well number". The footage can no longer be found but at the time when it was anyone could log on and see exactly the same footage the operators of the rov were viewing. There were many very strange events .In One event a rov was sent down to untangle a cable from a structure very deep under water. As the mechanical arms of the rov were attempting to untangle this cable, which by the way was huge and obviously very strong ,out of the view of the rov camera something attacked the rov. Whatever attacked it had snapped the cable and torn part of the mechanical arm off.The whole attack lasted less than 3 seconds and the attacker was not identified. Other footage was of part if the cable emitting a green glow and the cable was clearly moving on its own in a was that could only be described as swimming away from the rov.Ive been warned to be quiet so this is as far as I'll go into this topic, besides,it's so bizarre unless one saw it themselves Noone would believe it.

I’m from Alberta and we used to go to the Okanogan every summer for vacation and this was the 1970’s/80’s, and I remember seeing Leonard Nimoy’s show about the Ogopogo on “In Search Of” and being terrified to go swimming in the lakes around Penticton/Kelowna and Osoyoos. I never did see anything but a few years ago I was watching a show with that South African biologist, Jeremy Wade, and he seemed to think it could possibly be a very large sturgeon or some kind of prehistoric remnant of a massive freshwater eel that got trapped in the chain lakes after the last ice age. Who knows…I have always felt uneasy swimming in the Interior lakes in the Kootenays though!

I once had a dream that reminded me of the events in this video. I dreamed that I was in a very simple empty small hut made of stone with only one door. I was in the hut with several people and thought I should go outside to take a look at where I was. When I got outside I was almost stunned by the view. The hut was on a beach and it was nighttime with a clear sky. I could see the stars and noticed right away that they looked very different from Earth. Some were very bright so it was possible to see everything like on a full moon on earth. When I looked to my left I noticed a variety of different dinosaur-type creatures standing at the beach and looking out at the ocean. I watched them for a while before I noticed that they were statues. I then walked closer to the water and was thinking about testing the water to see if it was warm enough to swim in. Suddenly the people I was with screamed in a panic that I should get away from the water and only a second later several dark-skinned lizard-like creatures rushed out of the water and tried to grab me. The people I was with then pulled some type of weapon and shot white glowing beams at them. The creatures then retreated back into the ocean and I woke up.

Iv been on the Columbia River many times in my life. In several places too. Anywhere from Portland in Jantzen Beach to Columbia river dam and everything in between. I can tell you that there is definitely big creatures stalking that river for a meal. As you said it feed directly into the ocean in Astoria so anything that breaths air can travel or if it’s adapted to both fresh and salt water which I imagine a massively illusive sub aquatic monster would be.

I was at Sauvies with my dog this past summer and saw a large serpent/snake looking creature in that damn water.. I was so shocked at what I was seeing and in disbelief. At least 15-20ft long, possibly bigger. It would come to the surface where it would stick its head out of water, then would disappear under water, then come back up again to the surface after a significant distance covered moving down Columbia. Told myself I’d never go into that water again. Definitely something in there.

Nothing about diving but that video triggered a childhood memory that was so creepy! I remember being in the open ocean for the first time. Scary as nothing I can compare! Never felt anything like that before and after that in my life. I was on Holiday with my fam and I could swim very good since age 4(had lessons) so my fam wasn’t scared when I was swimming at the beach alone cuz at the time I was like nearly ten. So there I was, swimming 🏊‍♀️ just enjoying life and within a blink of an eye, it got cold af! My whole body felt strange in an negative way like..idk from deep within me, I felt really uncomfortable and unsafe in a way.. I looked down and it was pitch black. I swam past the shore 😮all happened so fast and scared me to death and I got back to land asap!

Very entertaining video ! As an old veteran 30 year scuba diver who has dived in the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian oceans, the Black Sea, Aegean, and now living on the Mediterranean coast, I feel disappointed that I've never seen a ghost despite diving in many ancient ship wrecks! 😱. Big fish, I have seen and had some close encounters over the years including almost bumping into a Great White and getting snuck up on by a Tiger Shark, luckily it wasn't hungry! It's possible to see some strange things and I have heard similar stories from dive buddies so nothing is totally unbelievable. Just to note that hallucinations from oxygen deprivation and even a bad gas mix, in the tank are not so uncommon. Of course not everything can be attributed to that but it's definitely the case in some instances. Still, there are many mysteries in the sea, generally it's as unexplored as the universe. There are many things we don't know. A note to everyone. Never dive alone.

Reminds me of the time I was diving with a group of playmates. They were sad because some supermodels I hang out with were hogging all my time but I told them it was cool we could go scuba diving. I had some time off from training Navy Seals how to defeat Great Whites in hand to hand combat so we went out to se. Me and the playmates were diving past some coral reefs and a gaggle of mermaids approached us. You might think that is the fantastical part of the story but mermaids are fairly common in my line of work. The crazy part was they told us that the black muck death army were in their village and were all terrified for their life's. Now I had never heard of the black muck death army but I decided to check it out for them. Leaving the mermaids and playmates behind I grabbed my diving knife and proceeded to check out the merpeople village. What I saw was pure horror. All the merman were dead and let me tell you merman are formidable. And there they were. The black muck death army. Half man, half octopus, all muscle. With heads where their feet should be and feet where their heads should be, a ferocious site. Fortunately for me my diving knife was forged in the fires of the deepest ocean volcanos and was enchanted by Aquaman's own personal shaman to glow around creatures that are evil, and it provided me enough light to fight past the black muck's primary ink weapons and defeat all 25,000 of them. Just glad I found this page so I could add another completely true story, the oceans are truly wierd.

As a military diver, I've also seen some pretty weird things in the gulf of mexico and we are told to keep quiet..

Care to elaborate? I've heard of a huge serpent type creature in the gulf.

I don't know why exactly, but if I saw something and was told to stay quiet about it, unless it would put individuals in harms way, It would piss me off enough to def tell people about it.

Please also consider that as a scuba diver you can get a "divers high" below 40 meters - about 130 feet (sometimes higher, depends on your overall conditions), you can feel dizzy, and like you're drunk. also hallucinating is possible.
