The main drawback with Etsy is that they can decide to shut you down at any moment with no explanations and that's that. Your shop that you put 100s of hours and money on is ultimately not yours. If they were known for better and more fair service around this topic I would not hesitate.

It’s good for establishing your new business because you get free traffic. Once it’s more established, you can branch off and start an independent store.

Yes this can happen and that is why it is so important to have guidance with your shop to help prevent these situations.

Etsy is horrible now. Not like they used to be! Ever since Josh came in he is trying to turn it into ebay. Etsy used to be so great. Now they punish you for not offering free shipping. They will enroll you in off site adds whether you like it or not and lie to you when you make a sale. There is NO transparency!

What is the procedure for Etsy and print on demand? With social media, a customer clicks a link to a POD site and the POD company handles 100%. Do Etsy buyers get forwarded to a POD site as well or is the Etsy shop owner responsible for the transaction?

Typically you link your Etsy listing to your POD provider (Printify etc.) for fulfillment (plenty of tutorials on YT on how to do this). This is transparent to the buyer as it happens in the background. Keep in mind that for many products using a POD provider is not cost effective so sellers who do their own printing can sell at lower prices.

I'm too afraid to start an Etsy store after hearing about the policy with new stores where they hold your funds for months, and if they shut you down you never get the money they're holding. I don't trust Etsy enough to gamble with it. Too much seems out of my hands.

Etsy seller for several years, if you follow their policies you wont have any issues. Bank accounts need to be verified, that shouldn’t be a problem for anyone🌼

Etsy takes 100.00 for forced ads from me per sale..thats without sellers fees... so its around 200.00 with fees..which is crazy..I also don't believe who actually clicks on an ad from what they say because I have asked customers if they clicked on an ad ...most say no..since I drive most businesses to my shop myself

Yeah if you refuse a return they will leave a bad review and etsy will not remove it!

Awww... sorry about your experience, have you tried reaching out to Etsy's support team directly about your experience? Sometimes, they can offer assistance in resolving such issues.

No they are not. Allowing Chinese products. Doesnt matter how much you advertise, still no sales. To many people, long term Etsy sellers are leaving the platform.

I tried pattern, and unless you are going to promote your own website it’s a waste of time. Also customers clicking on items there get taken to the etsy marketplace if you have items listed on both - i had for a long time, not 1 sale

@@dylanjahraus thank you for promoting the question and allowing me to think it through. First, I like the idea of having your own domain for branding proposes. Second I would say that it gives my current and future customers a place to shop without being exposed to the competition through ‘similar items section.’ If they get curious they can veer off. I’m dissatisfied by the lack of design and site feature option they currently offer. Very limited.

Just saw your multiples vedios and i think before starting on etsy i can take classes for you but unfortunately i found you a late 😂😂 I have a shop on etsy related to digital design for t-shirts facing a problem in tittle description and tags can't purchase your course hopefully you can understand meanwhile when i saws your vedios there is a potential and i can do but how i can do thats problem i can face If you can help me and support to run my shop really thankful to you ♡
