As someone that rode this as it was being built we need way more places like this in NH. We are seriously lacking in expert terrain and I was so excited about this place. Rob and the builders are killing it for the town of Claremont and the town is totally embracing it which is awesome! We were lucky as we got to ride it when it was 6" deep loam as well.

I'm from PA, and while unfortunately there's no decent bike parks within an hour our two, I'm still in striking distance of Killington, Thunder and Mountain Creek. Been to Sedona, Angel Fire (my personal favorite), Mammoth and Trestle. All sick places to ride obviously, but I'd put some spots out here up against any of em, especially Thunder. The advantage we have here, is between Boston, New York, Philly and DC, you got over 50 million people, so there's a big financial incentive to capitalize on it. MTB has exploded in the last 5 years, Virginia, Carolina and even Florida has some great spots. New York State, Highland, Kanuga, even if you head inland a bit you have great riding in WV and especially Tennessee. You can spend a summer just in VT, NH and MA without hitting the same trail twice, and it's a relatively short distance between all of em.

@SkillsWithPhil3 жыл бұрын
Downhill bikes are designed to be good at one thing and one thing only, and that's going downhill fast. They have a lot of travel, are super long, but are miserable to pedal around . Enduro bikes have a little less travel, and are really good (but not quite as good) at going downhill, but they also are pretty efficient to pedal around which means you can climb up hills with them instead always needing a lift or shuttle. As a former downhill racer, these days, unless you are racing downhill, i don't recommend them. Enduro bikes are way more versatile, and can do 90 of what a downhill bike can, and also be used to ride trails that are lift accessed.

@SteveKeith3 жыл бұрын
Focusing on the little coffee conversation, I will preface this by saying I probably am a coffee snob (much to my chagrin). If you're putting cream in your coffee to dilute the bitterness, there is a problem with the beans/brew method; a good coffee should never be truly bitter, but have balanced sweetness, acidity, and a hint of bitterness to round it. It's a beautiful journey once you teach yourself to taste
@SkillsWithPhil3 жыл бұрын
Not disputing anything you are saying but I personally don't enjoy black coffee, it just feels incomplete. I can tolerate and certainly when prepared properly can be really good, but it's not what i crave when i want coffee. When I'm looking for coffee I'm looking for a smooth light roast blend, and cream helps complete the taste. For what it's worth, I was a classically trained cook , i went through the same cooking program as Alton Brown (he was my graduation speaker). Anyway there's 6 known tastes that we can detect; salt, sour, bitter, sweet, umami, and one that was only recently discovered called oleogustus. The cream has a fatty taste called oleogustus, and thats the flavor I'm seeking to compliment the coffee flavor when i sip on morning brew. :)

Sweetened condensed milk!
@SteveKeith3 жыл бұрын
@@SkillsWithPhil now that's a response I can get behind. You actually know what you like and why. Most people just seem to not like the taste of coffee but want to drink it regardless, so they load it up with cream and sugar to mask any actual flavor.
