Justin, according to a website with a "Today in Rock (October 11)" it stated, "In 2006, singer Justin Hawkins announced that he left The Darkness to focus on his drug rehabilitation." I just wanted to say thanks for taking that step. I'm glad you're still around.

I imagine he is very happy to be reminded of it. He is back with The Darkness and has been sober for years. We are extremely proud of him and happy he realizes he needed help or would not be around to entertain.

@@danielwatson7319 I have found that a lot of people who have found sobriety are happy to be able ro help and encourage others that are struggling. Look at Nikki Sixx. He is always reaching out and talking to people that are struggling. I think acknowledging this anniversary for Justin is good. Most people celebrate their sobriety birthdays. We are glad he is still here doing these videos and entertaining us! I'm thankful he is!!

Obituary - The End Complete was my first proper death metal album. However Slowly We Rot is easily their best work in my opinion. A classic debut of American death.

I'm from NW Florida and back in my day the Florida Metal scene was on fire! I was always on the punk side of things but a lot of those bands came through our town and totally kicked ass! People were coming out of the mosh pit with missing teeth and dislocated noses!

This is great. I love "cause of death". James Murphy just absolutely made the lead on that album. Regular guitarist Adam west (who wasn't involved in this album) of course went on to form Six Feet Under with former cannibal corpse singer, Chris Barnes as well as with former Death bassist, Terry Buttler.

Infected is also an awesome song from that same album. This is the only death metal album I owned back then. Didn't know it was held in such high regard. Makes sense, it's rad. I listened to this and the Paradise Lost album Icon on repeat for a whole sad 90s summer. It was great.

8:15 has always been one of my favorite transitions. Its straight butter and subtle. Kudos to the mix for letting that bass line run clean through it too. Heard them on college radio station back in the day. Bought it the next day. This was my second death metal album after The Bleeding. Good days those were.
