On the map it just says Lancaster, but the official name is Lancaster County. same thing, like the capital of Korea is Suwon, unless you take the mission for korea, but the official name of Suwon is Suwon-si, si meaning a city

Would the “ju” have the hanja 州？ in that case, the korean “ju” comes from the chinese 州, which is the “zhou” in the game provinces. in cantonese provinces however, this is “chow”. they refer to the same chinese character.

tbh forts that fall at very high percentages have become a very common occurence in the most recent update. I was playing as the Ottomans lately, and sacked a fort with full artillery bonus, a six siege general who was a siege specialist, and a fleet which blockaded it with a flagship that has plus one bonus against forts at 92 percent! 😂

In the last video you talked about how you're not fond of the Show Strength strategy, but in the case of a Date campaign, what do you think of opening with two quick Show Strength wars against Nanbu and Ando to get an early lead on mana points and mana point generation through PP, then just annexing the land anyway after (usually) Shiba annexes them? I feel like in that specific circumstance the slight delay of territory gain at the start is made up for by the extra mana allowing you to capitalise on your gains more consistently throughout the rest of the campaign. Addendum: as an Aussie, rangas aren't orangutans, they're people with red hair. Congratulations, the Irish are now coming for you because you just called them all monkeys. Fun fact, as Japan you can get up to +70% infantry combat ability if you become the Emperor of China: 15% from their ambition 15% from the Inno-Quality ambition 10% from Quality ideas 10% from Mercenary ideas 10% from Harmonizing Shinto as Confucian (which automatically happens if you shift to Confucian after taking the Mandate.) 10% from the "Boost Officer Corps" decree (temporary) You can also get this as Shun, but you'd need to manually harmonize Shinto, and several other nations though you'd need to flip from Christian or Islam first to be able to take the mandate. You can also get up to +75% if you play as Sweden, Scandinavia, or Prussia, but again you'd need to flip religions first.

I got lucky as Ryukyu and conquered Japan by around 1530. Compared to a Daimyo start, its still much slower, but getting the Japan mission tree should make it much easier for a WC. But the big question I'm stuck at, is religion. Confucianism is extremly strong, and perfect for a WC, because it saves me conversion and many rebels. Shintoism is fixed to some valuable missions, and I would get more out of it, if I stay Shinto (but it still works with other religions). And Christianity has the advantage of diplomacy and some strong modifiers. What would be the smartest choice?

Definitely Confucianism for the WC. Getting all the modifiers from harmonizing them (and you get Shinto +10 combat infantry right off the bat) is also a great bonus. There's really only two missions you can't complete unless you're Shinto or Christian, but they aren't important enough to miss out on not having to convert or deal with religious rebels.

I'm french but I live in Indonesia, and "Orangutan" come from indonesian languages, and this means literally, people of the forest/jungle. "Orang" is people and "utan", in normal language "HUTAN" with an H means forest/jungle. "Orang Perancis", means "french" or "french people", "orang ingris" means "english" or "english people" so basically the indonesian people in their languages dosent make big differences between those monkeys and normal humans. PS : by monkeys obviously I speak about the english people.

The most important aspect to playing "tall" in EU4 is to stop playing before the year 1700. Not because anything specific happens at that point, but rather because you run out of things to do and many of the large nations end up overpowering you with their sheer size. So you either end whilest still being tall or you play long enough to end up going wide anyways.

Yes orang utan CAN use tools. In fact it is the only great ape that were known to use tools. They snap banana leaf or other big leaf to use as an umbrella, they could use saw to cut wood. And they are quite smart, smart enough to open a bag of chips & not eating the plastic. The only thing ludi said wrong is that there is no orang utan in papuan jungle (wild) , both in Indonesia or papua new Guinea. They are only found in sumatra & borneo (those 2 big island in malacca trade node), but not found in java even though those 3 island were connected in the past

How do you benefit from having trade power in nodes that are downstream from your main trade node? Legit question because I don't understand. If you're not collecting there/can't collect there, doesn't the trade power just get wasted?

If you're talking about the Baltic node in my case, it's cause I collect both in the baltic and in Novgorod. Usually it's only beneficial to have trade power downstream if you will eventually collect at some point along the way from there or there

It wouldn't let me collect there, as far as I know everything I got from the channel got wasted.
