I work in automobile hauling. You know, those semis that roll down the highway all stacked up with cars and trucks? Yeah, that. One of our biggest concerns is hitting bridges/overpasses because we are one of the only truckers who control how high our truck and trailer is (hydraulic platforms). I can tell you this: that garbage truck driver just lost his job. The cost of hitting a bridge is incredibly expensive. There's going to have to be studies done to it by teams of engineers over a long period of time to make sure it's still solid and theres also going to be costly repairs.

Heard horror stories for many years about routine maintenance on the Honda Gold Wings, and mostly by folks who never owned one, but had known someone who had. I always ignored their stories as I've frequently been lied to about most tourer's since many of their owner's rarely do more than put gas in its fuel tank and maybe put air in the tire's. The most problematic of bike repairs comes with the belt swap involving the cooling system, along with the hoses and radiator placed fully forward of all that. That's only because its a regular scheduled item that requires replacement sort of often. Have a great week.
