Germans hate Red Bull for circumventing the 50+1 to market their product. In Germany clubs are owned in the majority by the fans, this makes Red Bull different to the rest of the league. So Red bull took a club in 5th division who probably had prospect but no ambition to get higher then 4th division. They put in the money, build the structure, give more people jobs, over 7y they got into the 1st division, made their name in their own Bundesliga and in CL. Produced talents, they have young squad, young coach, they are not spending too much on the market like PSG, Man City or other clubs, they made more jobs for people, kids have one more option to go an train football, one more team to give Bayern Munich run for their money etc etc. They did more good then bad. PSG and Man City is the problem in modern football. This is for me an ownership who is doing great job. They didn't splash 250m on Neymar or spend over 1-2b on whole team like Man City. That's not a good thing for character development. Regarding the politics of Chemie: I think that the separation of football and politics is like in any other field in society - a hoax. And RB Leipzig is the best example for that: It is a capitalist club, a toy of a billionaire that - luckily - died, which should not even exist in the eyes of many. It is a highly political question. From an outsider’s perspective German football is difficult to get into for the simple reason it’s not entertaining seeing Bayern win the league every season. From that perspective it’s refreshing to see a team genuinely challenge that. However, it’s easy to see from this video why people hate Leipzig. No one wants to see such a blatant example of advertising and product placement being successful in sport 11 years after it’s creation as a football club. It would though be good to see German football actually be genuinely competitive without compromising the values the fans have.

See, that's the difference. We don't see football as entertainment, we see it as passion, love and family. The team I support is fighting against relegation, the other team I really liked just failed to get promoted from the 4th division. The majority of german football fans, no matter if they support Schalke, Frankfurt, Gladbach, Hamburg, Nürnberg, Dresden, Rostock or Essen doesn't give a f*ck about who will become champion. Why would they? All that's important for them is their own team. They love their team, loved it as kids, when they for the first time visited their stadium with their fathers. Their fathers stood there back in their youth, maybe the 70's or 80's, experienced some of the most legendary matches in the club's history, some european matches against giants like Liverpool or Barcelona. He passes on his love for the team to his son, just as he iherited it from the boys grandfather, who visited the games when he was young, right after World War II when they had nothing else. All they dream about is to see just another top tier match with their team. But with the years it becomes harder and harder to come back, because of these plastic clubs like Leipzig, Leverkusen, Wolfsburg, Hoffenheim, because they simply "block" spots for the other teams with big history. Surely they made it with good work, but also with way more money than the other teams have. Do you understand, why we hate Leipzig? We have a different view on football. Maybe it's not as entertaining as in other countries. But it's more passionate. And that's why we love the sports.

Does it not genuinely bother you though seeing Bayern dominate the league year in year out with not much hope of Dortmund or even Leipzig catching them? I mean without a ball even being kicked its safe to say Bayern will probably win the Bundesliga this season although I hope they don't. I read plenty about how much Leipzig is hated by some in Germany. But I still don't understand it, it may not be the German way to exist in the form that they do, but it's a more Business-like existence, and it's real life everywhere else in the world. Billionaires and companies own sports clubs. Germany is different in this way because of their 50+1 rule.
@steve.4364 жыл бұрын
To be fair. The Football that RB plays is really good. But they don't have any culture, any history. They are just promoting really that product. But again, Football and Business is well done in Leipzig. It just doesn't fit to the way we Germans like our Football. There is no heart and passion.
@KenDaKingArrives4 жыл бұрын
@@steve.436 Thanks for the reply. Well, you have to leave that to the players and fans that they do have. The club exists as it is and I don't know how the German masses can force them to change that. Culture? I think the club's corporate background and their squad's style of football representing their company's motto or objective counts towards that. It's different from what you know and like, but all the same. History? I know the league was formed long ago, but there can be such as thing as NEW teams emerging and achieving great things, which Leipzig has been doing. History can be made, and rewritten, and the masses must acknowledge this, to do otherwise is disingenuous. Regardless of their representation Leipzig is still a football club and the players are not just corporate machines. Although it is difficult to accept new things in the old continent, not everything can revolve around history. From my point of view from a mainly progressive culture above all, the rejection is unnecessary, with all due respect.

@@KenDaKingArrives the thing is that the Bundesliga is known for its exceptional fan culture and lack of investor owned clubs. This is the one big selling point the Bundesliga has in contrary to the other European leagues. Thats why there is a set of rules to safeguard this status quo (still there are exceptions for historical company teams and long term financial supporters of a team e.g. Bayer Leverkusen, Hoffenheim, etc.). Leipzig didnt use the intended way to one of those exceptions but used pretty shady loopholes to achieve that. Thats why they are hated, they basically cheated the system and thus got an unfair advantage (it was all legal ofc but they went completely against what the system was supposed to protect). I mean they are not even really a football CLUB, as in it has like 10 members (all being Red Bull employees) and an extraordinary fee to join, so its basically impossible that any fans will ever have the chance to join and have say in this club. (not really up to date on this so correct me if im wrong, edit: should have watched the video first) They are a well run organization without any doubt and they would be a welcome competition in the Bundesliga, but they used unsportsmanlike strategies to get there and thus dont deserve to be in the Bundesliga. If they had just followed the rules like for example Hoffenheim people wouldnt hate them (although Hoffenheim also is seen very critical but for other reasons)

Well its the Germans who rants about their players leaving their league and moving to prem or la liga but the fact is that since they have this 50+1 voting rule of who can come here and can fund the club and who cannot makes no sense. I also belive that this rule is good for the emotions of the fans that their club belongs to them.but I believe that DFB should circumvent their rules a bit and allow big businessmen to come and invest in their club so that they can also buy great players and can give a fight to Bayern Munich for the title and can save their own players from getting poached! IMO , DFB should get a bunch of guys from.the economics to shape their rules a bit and make a rule which allows the funds pouring from.investors and along with it, the maintainance of 50+1 rule just like FC BARCELONA does!

Your English gave me a headache. German football has a rule, 50+1 and this rule is in place for a good reason. Just because pigbull invested money in Leipzig team doens't mean they own the entire team. The rule was in place to protect people's game here from corporate takeover and leave the game soulless.
