Hardly different, just the same as phones used to be. They have no innovation, the worst UI on a smartphone with barely any features. They don't even have the option to remove on screen keys ffs. Colours aren't very good, brightness is poor and they generally aren't very good at all. I am really hoping the Xperia 1 ii is going to be good though. It just needs to match my 7t pro. I'll never own a notch phone again after the S10 plus.

Samsung liked to play tricks and change UI colors but when it matters like watching videos or checking pictures, the 4j quality is obvious...I'm not even a fan of Sony but I'm not blind sheep... everything else u can argue but the display on Sony has the best true color, don't compare it to that cheap Chinese phone oneplus lol, the always having screen burns and have the worst UI....I'll take stock Android anyday...none of them have 4k and u can't turn 4k to 120hz on a phone, u will get lower quality in pixel....

I've been seeing ads for the 1 mark 2 in my youtube feed. I'm really excited about this new line up. Most people don't understand that last year was a reboot of the xperia line, if sony had done this 3 or 4 years ago I think they would be in a much better position. Tbh the XZ xperias were really good. I almost got my hands on the Xperia XZs this year but I had to wait due to these new phones that are coming out. I have the Xperia 1 right now and while it's a good phone, some of their choices in it's design are a bit annoying. The power button not being the indented button is the most annoying. The other is the the small bezel at the bottom of the phone. I've gotten so use to resting my thumb there when using my old Z2, Z5, and XZ1. Because of that, I keep pressing the onscreen back button now. Looks like the Pro fixes that button issue and it's larger edge size might fix the thumb resting area for me. I want one and depending on it's release price, will depend on whether I get it on release. I have absolutely zero plans to use any of the "Pro" features. I simply like the design. I hate when they design camera humps on the back. Just make the phone thicker to get rid of the hump and add in more battery or something. I have a case on my Xperia 1, just to get rid of the camera hump. Well that and the phone is slippery.

someone (sorry, can't disclose the source) told me that camera algorithm of X1 II is very very different from previous models. General users will like it, the rating from the famous camera review site will improve a lot. But this means its photos will be "overblown" like other famous phone's cameras. so lots of camera enthusiast who likes sony's natural color reproduction will be unhappy.

Damn, I wish I'd waited and got the new Xperia. I'm still loving my Note 10+ but I've always had a soft spot for Sony's, they've just never had a real "flagship" device. I thought I would one day consider a Xperia 1 admittedly because it is the only phone with almost 4k resolution. It doesn't. Because of the aspect ratio of the screen. And because it has no selfie camera on the screen...a deal breaker for me. I currently own a Samsung Note 9. Maybe the best phone made IMHO. Design and performance wise. Does so many things better than most other phones. For any one vaguely serious of videography...I'd think they would be carrying a 4k or 8k video camera. Maybe using the Xperia 1 Pro as a backup. Though, because it can transmit in 5G...there is that. Maybe for the journalist working for less known employers. As known employers I'd think would be granted access to internet ahead of time. But for the average person...The MK2 is good enough...if "almost 4k" is important. I'd love to see some one put out a TRUE 4k resolution tablet. Odd no one has.

So far I have to agree I'm excited about the new Xperia's for the first time in ages. Especially the return of the headphone jack, keeping front facing speakers and dual sim. That said we still have to see what reviews actually say. We have all seen on multiple flagships that just using good sensors and glass does not make for good cameras. Previous Sony flagships have been especially disappointing given we are talking about the leading camera maker in the world. Why cant they nail it in mobiles? Hopefully they do this year.. I still consider 5G a nice to have for most of us. Will take a while before all of us have good fast 5G networks around us and mm wave is especially less of a urgent requirement. Sure its damn fast but the conditions needed for you to actually get good signal is just crazy. I think mm wave will be very specialized use for many years to come before any of us will need to start caring about it. By then we would have all upgraded our mobiles again.

Everyone's opinion is different in what they prefer but having used the 1 for 11 months, the pictures I have taken on this are outstanding. I still get shocked by them and how good they are .My friend who is using a pixel 4 hates the camera on it and prefers his Sony. Just depends on what you like I suppose.
