Stop that short sighted opinion. Remember when GM, FORD AND CHRYSLER sold almost all of the vehicles in America? May your to young. In the early 70s I was in engineering and development in one of the big 3 talking about product development and to not worry about pay check development so much. The gas shortage happened and America really had no/vary little product to sell (my thinking was ahead of the curve). Toyota only made little cars and our brilliant government let them in under relaxed import laws, tax cuts and EPA REGULATIONS. Not only was research money lost in veh sales but still paid full taxes and was responsible for full development of new emission de development. (Not many civilians would know about that). Often the foreign company didn't need to comply to new REGULATIONS till the year after American industry did.(engineering is expensive but copying is cheap) I feel better now thanks for the chat. Merry Christmas.

To all the GM sheep , the SUV craze didn't effect Toyota. They just sold over 1 million corolla in 2017 . GM went under because of the poor quality of cars .

Wow attitude dude. American industry is under attack and has been for a long time by so many foreign competitors. Oh, foreign products made in America are foreign profits. Not for America.

@@4406bbldb listen you gm sheep I understand that GM is,an American automaker. But that doesn't give them an excuse to produce crap . It's a well known fact that GM manufacturers crap and unreliable cars. That is why they went under its not due to the SUV craze . Last I checked Toyota and Honda still makes cars . People buy Japanese because they have a proven record of reliability. If you wanna go ahead and buy GM because it's American and ignore them being unreliable that's on you . Have fun with that .

Also scrapes on steep driveway approaches. Bodyshop says its $1,000 to fix, have to remove entire ouside front cowling, then mold to shape , easier to replace....for $1,000.

@@JahyMoonwalker With a 0-60 time of 6.2 seconds even with 156 ft-lbs of torque is pretty impressive. But here's the thing though: The beauty with sports cars like the GT86 is that you can use all of its power (that is more responsive than you think it is) all day long. Sure, there are other sports cars with more power, but are more expensive, heavier, and less fun-to-drive on public legal roads. (besides, 205 horsepower is impressive from an NA 2.0L I4 despite being horizontally opposed) For under the $30K range, barely any other sports car feels so visceral, drift-happy, and feeling like a true enthusiast's dream. In the end, more power will ruin this car in my book. Coming from someone who owns a GT86 with high quality track modifications done by myself. In other words, with responsive power even for every daily driving and public legal roads, visceral, lightweight and drift-happy feel, phenomenal balance, etc etc etc, the car was just built to be a true driver's car, like the AE86 that it inspires. To just have so much fun behind the wheel, which should be the main priority of any true sports car. Sometimes, power just isn't everything in my opinion..

I was hoping to get a look at how well the rev matching feature worked. I had heard that it wasn't that great for some reason and was looking forward to seeing if any improvements had been made to it to make it a more viable option for daily use.

Just a thought. If you are going to talk about rev matching with anti-stalling, perhaps you could offer audio of that, instead of elevator music. I know, for that you may need to employ a sound operator and have to mix the audio, but you might end up with a production of higher value.

It's weird looking, but I like the blue paint. I said that back in 2011 when I bought a Voodoo Blue Scion xB. I would consider this as a replacement of I could find one with a manual. Hope it would be as reliable as the old car...nothing ever broke.

It comes down to cost...not ideal to some drivers but it’s a business. Cheaper to mould the dash that you tack on the display than integrate it. Besides, a lot more manufacturers doing it so simply - get on with the times! If you don’t like it then buy a diff brand/model.

Toyota has really stepped up their game with features and especially styling all across their model line up. Their design department really needs a raise. This Corolla looks stunning and is light years away from its simple economy car roots of yesteryear. Although I do not have a Corolla I just got a 2019 Toyota C-HR and LOVE IT! The little attention to details that were mentioned in this video are on point. Too bad the C-HR did not get this Corolla engine but I see what Toyota was trying to do in getting their cars to that ever important 30+ combined MPG. With the Corolla and its more aerodynamic design, it could reach 30+ MPG with a more powerful engine but for the C-HR to reach that, they had to cut back on some horses. No matter because the car is still pretty peppy and I will be adding some TRD performance parts to my C-HR soon. You get all this combined with that legendary Toyota quality! It a win, win in my book.
