Good car here in Jamaica it's reputation also suffers because of the profile of its typical owner. That being said great performance sedan that lends itself to easy and reliable bolt on and software modifications that significantly improves the car's performance. In Jamaica the Skyline is direct competitor based on price and performance, and reliability (Nissan GQ 6cyl engine has proven itself to be very reliable)

Mark X is the successor of Cressida, Chaser then Mark II which shares the same chassis platform with Crown and Lexus GS. Still missing my top trimmed Mark X (GRX130 FL). It has the best reliability, quietness, engine responsiveness in its price range and amongst its competitors. Also, its outlook is the best one which can be lasted for decades without any aging feeling.

Speaking of tracks and drifting, I really hope that at some point people will bring in the Mark X GRMN. Runs a 3.5L NA V6, mated to a 6MT with a Torsen LSD, has a convectional handbrake, carbon fibre roof, BBS wheels and is rear wheel drive. This unit also gets sport suspension, high performance brakes and a reinforced chassis for more rigidity. It wears a GR badge which is Toyota's performance division but is tuned by Meister of the Nurburgring hence GRMN and it puts out 316 horses stock. Only downside is the chances of the Kenyan market getting this unit are very low considering it was limited to 100 units only in 2015 but lets wait and see. In 2019, another one came out and this one is limited to 350 units. Come the year 2025 ama 2026 onwards lets hope some people will get there hands on some of those 350 units coz that thing will be a unicorn if not already one in the making. Prices start at upwards of 50K USD which translates to upwards of 6M Ksh and tha'ts just FOB.

@@MrAlwilliamz . It was discontinued in 2019. Currently we are importing 2015s. So for the next four or so years we should be able to bring the Mark X in from Japan provided the 8 year rule remains. That gives us up until 2025 or 2026 regardless of it's discontinuation.

Good review. Imo, Fuga v Crown and Skyline/Teana v Mark x is a more perfect match up. Fuga is a high end, much bigger Teana/skyline, just like the crown is to the mark x
