If done right, linear campaigns can be awesome. The trick is not to make it “cinematic”. When there is gameplay, give me gameplay regardless of linear scenarios; when there are cinematic scenes, go ahead with it; put the “awesome scenes” in both but don’t make the ones in the gameplay as “cinematic” (don’t force the camera, let the player focus on it or even miss it) and neither the cinematic ones “gameplay” (no quick time events in the middle). For example, the movie 1917 is great, but as a movie. If you try to make it a videogame it will not work, too constrained by scenes to be playable.

When a developer: 1. Knows the Audience. 2. Knows the Franchise. 3. Knows the Lore. 4. Actually gives a shit. You get works of art like this.

"I wrote a blog post a while ago about why i fucking hate video games, because this is what it does, it appeals to the male fantasy" *The male fantasy:*
@rbarnes4076Ай бұрын
You don't fully understand. In capitalist systems, companies must appeal to the majority of their customers. Action video games don't have many female customers. That is just a reality. So if you want to play action games, this is what you are going to see. If you go into a shoe store, the same type of thing is true. If you have a weird shoe size, good luck with buying anything off the shelf. You'll order special shoes and you'll pay a lot extra to do it. It is because the number of customers with your shoe size is real low. It is nothing personal at all.. it is just that the customer base has certain things they like.. it is simple, easy to understand, and really not fair. But it is the way the world works. Complaining about how the world works is just the path of unhappiness.

0:17 is that a Lord of Change? Does this means they need an entire platoon of space marines, tanks and dreadnoughts just to mimic a fraction of Malum Caedo's power?

Think they brought half the Ultramarines half the ultra marines to this fight honestly.

Exactly. I rarely take screenshots on my ps5, I was like paparazzi during this final charge into battle. Had the headphones on, this was an epic experience.
