Trouba's ability to make so many clean hard hits is mind blowing. Statistically you'd think he'd have more dirty hits just from errors of judgement on his part. I can't think of many bad hits he's had this year. Probably overall the most entertaining Rangers game of the season...although the last second Miller goal / Fox OT goal vs. the Stars was right up there (but that one was only entertaining as a Rangers fan for about 2 minutes out of 62).

Based on previous goals I’ve seen called back, that one was “kicking motion” all day. Really strange they let it stand. Good officiating on the body checks though. Blais and Trouba both landed some clean bombs. Flames are gamers though. They never quit.

Excellent job on being impartial and calling it as you see it even when you are a fan of one of the teams involved. Hits were clean and good for the game. Everyone outside of the NHL was shaking their head at that kicking goal. Doesn't matter, the quality of the game played on the ice was outstanding.

The Game last night had a ton of electric moments. Hands down one of the most competitive games i’ve witnessed this season and this is coming from a Avs Fan. Great hit from Jacob Trouba on Kadri. Trouba gets a shit ton of flak all the time from fans and Rangers Fan but man what a game he had last night. Way to step up for your team. Hell of a Game. This game in every aspect was purely amazing. I didn't get to watch up untill the near end of 2nd period, but everything after that was still really cool. The fights, the goals, the pressure & sheer adrenaline this game can give you definitely makes it my favorite of the games I've watched this season. Both teams played very well and also showed us things I've never seen before. I'm 15 and my dad recently showed me the ways of hockey a year ago, I'll def. be showing this to him, thanks! Fair assessment of a great game that had everything...hits, fights, pretty goals, ugly goals, big saves, head scratching officiating, drama, etc. Trouba's ability to legally blow people up is uncanny. Calgary is a good team with too much talent for Sutter not to get them over the hump. Rematch on the 18th should be interesting.

Absolutely textbook. Elbows down, skates not leaving ice, shoulder to chest, puck just handled by receiver of check. Every team used to have a couple of guys that would separate a player from the puck via a hard bodycheck.

As a Rangers fan, i actually thought that the “kicking motion” goal was right to be counted. The fact that the player was already moving forward, coupled with that he stuck out his leg at an angle made it so that it appeared he kicked it, but imo he did not. Rule is obscure because a true kick can really only be determined when a player isn’t moving. Nhl should address this. Always enjoy watching the Flames play as well.

Pretty sure Flames crushed the Rangers in both meetings last season. Good to see the young guys for the Rangers continue to mature and bring consistency to their game. Obviously, Flames have not had as strong of play this season from last. Still in the WC spot. Regardless, this game was unbelievable and had constant action filled drama. The first period took an hour to complete. Flames have great team speed, especially in their transitions up the ice, and entering the OZone; that goal by Stone was a beautiful shot but also setup by an overload of Flames positioning themselves down low, holding the Rangers defensemen close to their net. There were a couple of plays like that where I don’t normally see the Rangers look confused. Awesome game! Good luck in the playoff run out West!

Absolutely great game. I thought Markstrom got fooled by Chytil the way many goalies are these days. Many players have figured out how to leave the blade of their stick open, showing they are going top shelf, and then kind of turn it over like a hooded wedge and and put it five hole as the goalie tries to raise his arms. I could be wrong, but something in his release looked unnatural.

I hate the Flames.. but that is not a kicking motion. His line of his foot does not change, he kicks his foot to get to that point but at the point the puck makes contact the kicking motion is finished.. textbook deflection. At this point they should just make kicking legal, but I think it's pretty easy to determine whether or not it's a kick by where the pucks momentum comes from.

Jacob Markstrom has been doing some of the weirdest stuff I’ve seen a goalie do. As a habs fan I usually watch them when I can and when Montreal is facing Calgary Markstrom always comes so far out of the net and it ends up costing a goal. This isn’t just against the habs though. Against other teams do.. I got no clue why he does this maybe he’s tryna get extra cardio

Great great game. I'm all for standing up for teammates but Trouba shouldn't have to drop the gloves twice bc opponents can't keep their head up. If he's on the ice it's a given he will try to rock you. The instigator should get ejected. Find another way to even the score.

In 1992, when rule 46 was originally introduced, They used to give game misconducts for fight instigators. I really don't know why they changed it in 1996. But there you go. It's a joke.

Great game. Lucic shouldn't have been out there after his last penalty if he wasn't going to go after Trouba in some way. When you're letting Dube fight the battles you should be fighting, AFTER the guy got lit up earlier in the game. Pretty brutal. Not as brutal as Sutter throwing him out there in the last minute of a tied game with overtime on the line...
