Hi, this is a nice vide, thank you for let people know about out beautifu city, I am from Oaxaca, I just want to leave a very little comment about the chapulines, they are not crickets, chapulines are grasshoppers and there is a kind of big difference between them, I don't really know if crickets are eatable but grasshoppers (chapulines) definitely are. Cheers and nice video.

Went to mexico at 15, sick 6 days, hotel stated only filtered water. I ate mostly fruit and bread. Scared to try again. Tips?
@waysoftheworld_ Жыл бұрын
OMG so sorry! That must have been so hard Paula 🙈 So, weirdly enough the only time we have been sick in Mexico was at a nice hotel from room service pizza 😂 We don't drink the water, ever. We even brush our teeth with filtered water. However we are not super careful when cooking with it, for example we make rice and pasta and wash our veggies using sink water and have always been fine. Our advice is that you start slowly, maybe don't eat all the vegetables during the first few days, so your body gets used to it a little bit. Also, have Alka-setzer with you and take it before bed if you feel like something was too heavy. Hopefully you will be just fine this time! Also, if you're going to Oaxaca, don't eat moles every day! Take it easy with those. It'll be hard because they are extremely delicious, but our bodies can't handle it as an every day thing 😂 Good luck ❤️
@oirampeceda2409 Жыл бұрын
Take things in a little at a time as an introduction. Remember, a lot of the sickness comes from the different ingredients that you are not used to, if you are food sensitive. Also, different bacteria than what you have in your country. What did you do, drink the aqua? I mean, what did you eat?

are they still wearing masks there? Were in Queretaro about 2 and a half yrs ago and it was still there too back then But now this is a head-scratcher for me. Aw, I live in Medellin is it humid there like in Cartagena??
@waysoftheworld_ Жыл бұрын
yea a lot of the local people were still wearing masks when we were there in January. we went to Guadalajara after and far fewer people were wearing masks, so I guess it's a regional thing. We visited during the dry season and it was super dry mountain climate (very pleasant). Though they have a distinct wet season (May - Sept) and we heard it can get very hot and I guess humid too.

nah, you are not at all naturals -- do your research before you share info. "zapotec" is not a language; it is a dialect. too, you don't go to a market to eat street food. str-eet food is sold on the street. inside a market you eat market food. not! you eat local food, et cetera. thank you for sharing, BUT educate yourselves prior to filming AND do not make the video about you. good luck! and yes, thank you. 😊
@waysoftheworld_ Жыл бұрын
thanks! two quick things: 1) "Zapotec is a family of Indigenous languages of Mexico, most spoken in the state of Oaxaca, all of which can be called “Zapotec”.'" Source: oer.haverford.edu/cali-chiu/chapter/1-lecsyony-teiby/ Hence, it is not a dialect, but a language family. 2) 'Street food is food or drinks sold by a hawker or vendor on a street or at other public places, such as markets, fairs, parks, and clubs.' Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street_food#:~:text=Street%20food%20is%20food%20or,is%20meant%20for%20immediate%20consumption.
