Hell yeah HHR SSs are true sleepers I had an 08 that I traded for 13 Mustang GT. And now I own an 09 HHR SS auto and yes I still own the Mustang. I put 19×8.5 inch wheels on my HHR SS with Michelon 255/35/19 Pilot Sport 4s tires and now she rockets from a stand still and brakes, rides,stops and handles even better. Truly a fast fun car.

I’m a big Mustang fan, I own a 13 GT currently and a my 2nd HHR SS automatic in Red, the first was an automatic in Black which had the Stage 1 upgrade. I shamed Corvettes, Camaros, Chargers, Challengers, Mustangs and more with my 08 black HHR SS! And the autos have positraction and launch control with a 2800 stall lock-up torque converter standard both the 08 and my 09 had it. I traded the 08 to buy new my 13 Mustang GT 5.0. Besides having double the horsepower of my HHR SS I find both cars equally thrilling and fast fun cars. I’m 67 and a retired US Army guy who’s owned many different performance brands and models the HHR SS is faster than most stock muscle cars of the past even some that are only slightly modded, a true sleeper that handles well and brakes well with a factory stock top speed of 155, low 14s to high 13s in the 1/4 mi at just over 100!

Music is a bit too loud. But yes I love my SS. 2008 Automatic. Power when you need it. There are features on the HHR that makes a lot of sense. But for me the biggest reason why I love the HHR SS is the unique design and the fact that you don't see a lot of them on the road. I mean where I live and work there are so many Accords, RAVs, Highlanders, Corolla...it's ridiculous. I don't like that at all. Same reason I hate iPhones LOL.

Have a 2010 from new. Love it! More fun than my Viper because it's so agile. Had dealer add GM's Stage 1 upgrade (bigger MAF sensors + flash) at 40K miles. Makes a GREAT car even better. Dynos at 300+ HP. And how about those Brembo brakes? It's quite the toy. Now have 85K miles and hope it lasts forever.

I have a 2009 SS panel. 2 liter automatic. Aqua Blue Mettalic one of just 9 in this color. One of 216 SS panels built that model year. Had the performance digital display in the centre dash. Ordered it brand new same owner for 12 years. Daily driver and cruisein/show vehicle now has 135 thousand 400 hundred some miles on the clock ⏰! Love it. Receive alot of nice comments from spectators like luv the color really didn't know Chevy built these and so on. Added a Magnaflow catback exhaust a year later then EBC drilled/slotted rotors 4 better stopping power.

Also I must add that the auto is not slower the 5 speed. The trans can handle 450 pound feet of torque and the auto is 260 hp/torque same as the 5 speed power is limited in 1st gear to 235 to not melt the tires off the front with using the standard 2800 stall and launch control. HHR SS Turbos are beasts on the street shame cars costing far more I once beat a V10 Audi who tried to shame me and got gapped and I walled him on top end! HHR SS is a rock star! 👍🏾

You know I never really thought of owning one of these but yesterday, as I was browsing the used car market I came across a 2009 SS 1 owner black with a 176k, for $5k it caught my eye because it appears to be pretty clean so now I’m just looking around and watching videos of them. The one thing not many people talk about is if they are comfy or not. How is the seat and leg room?
@Lowgz Жыл бұрын
They’re so comfortable! SS bucket seats with a nice cloth/leather finish. Super cushy. One thing I will say with higher miles on these make sure timing is done. That’s the #1 downfall of these engines
