@@olivares32688 no issues at all. i just received the kryptonite upper control arms and the tierods, will update once theyre installed. the only issue is the factory control arms are flat and only have about 1/8 of an inch clearance from the droop stop at sitting so it makes some contact on heavily trashed roads. other than that i have zero issues with the lift, 8000 miles so far. once i get the new upper control arms on it should ride a lot smoother.

So does it have an upgraded bearing? Sure they look cool but I'm not sure I see any improvement to the failure points on a tie rod. Even trucks that death wobble bad dont bend the bar, they wreck the bearing. Pretty truck anyhow
@ColinMcEvoy
@ColinMcEvoy 5 жыл бұрын
Heavier duty tie rods are less prone to bending and wearing out. The parts are stronger and made of better quality components to achieve this. Check out their website. Not sure what bearing you’re referring to, unless it’s the wheel bearing, Kryptonite makes those for duramax’s as well.
@maddguystackerdude7366
@maddguystackerdude7366 5 жыл бұрын
Bro.. do you know how the little spindle can spin? You know, where the boot is. There is a bearing in that. That is the part that wears out on the rod ends.. I seriously shouldn't have to explain that to you. It's literally THE ONLY PART THAT WEARS OUT
@mattdiaz7214
@mattdiaz7214 5 жыл бұрын
@@maddguystackerdude7366 The part you're referring to is a wear point yes, but its not the reason for replacing the stock tie rods. The reason for replacing them is because the stock tie rods on gm trucks are garbage and are prone to bending and/or breaking, especially under heavy loads such as off-roading or other 4wd use. To put it simply: stock tie rods + 4wd launch = kachow mod

Good video! Yes heavy, durable, thick tie rods the better especially for lifted and heavy trucks... People truly don’t understand the concept of this video and why it was made. Why put stock tie rods back on and have them go out again in a few months? Maybe people should own lifted trucks before they talk and this isn’t for their Hyundai or Kia....

I guess after lifting any truck it's better to beef up the suspension components that are more likely to fail because of the changing geometry. If you overland or off-road it's better to have reinforcement but if you have a mall crawler or a daily that doesn't go off road as much then it doesn't make any sense in actually upgrading.

Do you kiss your Momma with that mouth? I’m just saying that the content does not match the title.

The content does match if you actually watched the video, I clearly showed that the old tie rods are smaller in size and showed that one was prematurely worn out due to the lift kit THUS needing heavier duty tie rods. If you want to contribute arguing semantics I love got plenty of time, but the video shows proof and reason to needing heavier duty tie rods as well as installation.

Then change the title to “Why you might want ... on a lifted truck, and how to install them”

Im with Mike on this. it does not appear you know the full understanding on why these upgraded tierods are important. We need these tie rods for 4wd boosted launches. And another thing why in the world are you heating the knuckle to get the ends out? put your purse down and smack the side and they pop right out. Dealerships are not out to screw you either and if they tell you a part is bad you probably shouldn't wait a year to find out oh yeah they were right and the part was bad.
