He said the same thing I have been telling my friends in Christ that they need to stop telling people not to question God. Allow them to question God to build faith, and then they will develop a relationship with God that trust is the center of it. When things are a little complicated, they will trust the spirit and do what he says without a doubt. I love this channel even though I am not Adventist, worship is unique and intimate, and I feel content like this helps Christians from all over the world to connect spiritually.

Abundance of blessing to both of you. You were called to bring these prosfectives to light. Church is dated, timed and formed to people's ideals. I wonder what God want's. The Bible is road map for our journey here on earth. No interpretation dissecting or change. His word is Nul and Void. Ask him for understanding. And read.

Exactly voiceless is the word. Young people love music if that's one way you can keep them in church and they are willing to be apart of it why not do that, not everybody want to sit and listen to preaching every Saturday or see the same person preaching. We are responsible for the life we live so if it mean that we are put our membership at this church but being there every Saturday make we feel sleepy let the membership stay there and find another sda church to go every other week if it makes sense smiling

I listened to Xavier (as he was talking more 😂😂) and wow he is so right on point. Both of you guys are on point with every word that you say it doesn’t matter which church it is we are losing our young people because of basically church politics and traditions. I was blessed, you guys are on point. Please pray for my church, Peytonville SDA🇹🇹,we have gone from approx 25 youths to 1, they keep leaving its a cycle that keeps repeating since i was a child, it's a blame game all round. I'm tired, frustrated, worried/fearful, i no longer function in church due to this, i had to go numb because I was becoming aggressive towards church leaders and members. Angry and hurt I left church for 3yrs but recently(2 sabbaths) started back, fellowship is a key part to Christianity and spiritual growth, pray for me.

This is a universal issue. Thank you for speaking on this, you guys did a great job. When I finished college I went back to my church to try and revive the youth ministry. I received push back from the older members but the kids were coming and responding well. We really need to do the work to keep things fresh because a lot of young people would be happy for a safe space to learn and explore the word without judgement.

And the youths shall lead them. At my age I couldn't imagine so intuned to youth teaching how to help others in the church.
@princessreid89172 жыл бұрын
There are a lot of pull factors that leads individuals to the church but then in the church there are far greater push factors that leads individuals especially the youths to leaving the church. An example of a pull factor would be the fact that young people view church as a safe haven, a place where they can heal, a place where they can seek physical, emotional and spiritual support and thats for those individuals who may not necessarily were grown in a church. So the church portrays this outside beauty that people will gravitate towards. A push factor would be that once in the church young people start to see the church on a whole another level based on individual experiences concerning church members or flawed doctrines. So the church no longer sparks interest but instead might lead to church hurt overtime and individuals drifting away from God too. This topic excites me so much I can't really express my views the way I want to

Great discussion! There are definitely changes that can be made to facilitate retention without sacrificing the main elements. For eg, church doesn't have to last all day and as long as folks dress modestly they don't have to find "church clothes". Also, the psychological manipulation that happens in some sermons is almost criminal. We can do so much better.

We often times hear at church or spiritual gatherings how important it is to know Jesus for ourselves but this is becoming just another cliché that is very important but can be taught in a more practical way;for example, we hear alot of what is good to do and not to do as a christian but not alot about the character of God. When people answer the call to come to God, it is just the beginning of getting to know Him. Help them get to know Jesus. Instead, the church ends up being so legalistic that people who are suppose to help bring God to the congregation are acting like they are God and judge over all. Withdrawing hand of fellowship and censoring and making a public show of matters that can be dealt with in love or better yet, the true character of God. When young people answer the call to give their lives to Jesus, it is not automatic that they will understand who He is fully, hence the reason so many struggle to come to God when they actually slip and fall. It is good for us to level the playing field and understand that we are all sinners. Remember how much God helped us with our personal struggles and is still helping us and be graceful and loving towards our sisters and brothers when they fall and it comes to our knowledge and stop asking them about their business if we know deep in our hearts we are not willing to help in a real way and we are just gathering information to share elsewhere. Also, very importantly, whenever we see a young person doing well in church, don't put them on any pedestal, stop waving their banner, not saying we shouldnt encourage them or share our sentiments but what we should be doing if nothing else is pray and pray and pray some more for them and if they fail after we have big them up, love them and encourage them same way, stop taking it personal like we are God and they have sinned against us. And the mothers who have children in the church, pray for other people pickney and stop watch your mouth on them, remember your child is also growing and will soon have to face the same test and trials.

Great discussion guys... Another thing that can be a contributing factor is that members do not feel valued in their congregation...You see this a lot when you hold office in the church. When it is certain people program, everybody supporting but when its another person, its a set of excuses as to why they can't do anything to support you... sigh..Plus, on top of that, the same members will turn around and criticize you and ask to see creativity in the programs...🙄. Sometimes to protect your sanity, you have to walk away from the toxicity...

Absolutely loved watching part one and two of these videos. Very salient points with ideas of practical solutions that I wish could be implemented with immediate effect! Was just about to ask "What if you don't want to be in church?" when I heard Zhara make the point. I think - and this is my opinion - that for some of us, our calling is beyond the walls of the church or the confines of religion. Simply because we're able to see past certain constructs, past fundamental beliefs, recognizing that religion/church is just one aspect of someone's life; seeing people as just people and having the ability to identify their needs, admitting that some of which cannot only be served by the church because of what the church's current structure as an organisation has to offer, or perhaps not. And that doesn't always make us far from God. Actively working beyond these scopes may possibly be fulfilling our God given purpose in our lives.

Yes, it is a universal issue in the churches as I am not SDA. We continue to pray for humility in our leaders, wisdom for leaders, healing to those who have been hurt by the church and restoration of churches in Jesus name. Good job guys.

Learning so much from you guys. Left Jamaica in the 70s growing up in church there then in the States. You guys are so on point. Blessings.

Let me tell you...I just love those two brilliant young people who love God. I am in my 60's and I find these videos so deep and interesting. I love all the reasons why our young people are leaving church. You both could talk to me fall day and I would love it. Keep doing the work God has called you to do. Blessings always👍🙏💕🙌
