People buy motorcycles like they’re ordering at fuckin McDonald’s. They buy the street glide fresh off the showroom floor, then slide their peckers right on over to the parts counter. “Excuse me, I would like the #3 combo”. (Which is the Willy G. Skull everything, plus true duals and bag extensions)

Pretty sure I saw both of those show bikes from FNA at Sturgis within the last few years. No video or picture can do them justice. Complete works of art, unlike anything else. The best part about the ratrod builds was the handful that were actually ridden to the show venue, and you could tell because they were actively leaking oil onto the floor.

While I genuinely love some of your more serious videos with unique points of view, this is far and away one of my favorite videos you have made. It offered a different take on motorcycle critique, a hare scramble, intelligent conversation, absolutely brilliantly engineered bikes, and just pure, unadulterated awesomeness. Thanks man.

Im a certified Harley Mechanic at a dealership and have owned 13 Harleys and have 2 now and to be honest i dont like the Road glide for my own reasons either ,, i cant physiologically get past the faring not turning when i do ,, it just freaks me out ,,, just me ,, just my opinion ,, we all have different likes and dislikes ,, brands models whatever,, who cares as long as your in the wind and most importantly having a smile on your face that is what its all about something that will take ya away from the shit sandwich we call life,, and thats my opinion anyway,,,
@briansauer6695
@briansauer6695 6 жыл бұрын
PhatboyHD88: Absolutely agree with the "in the wind" comment! I love the artistry some of these guys build into their bikes, and enjoy them for what they are. Some of these guys who build bikes like that INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL two stroke digger/chopper also have reasonably normal bikes that they can ride many miles on. Can't imagine riding that 2 stroker very far. I've got a reasonably stock '02 Superglide which is reliable (I'm no mechanic and have done a lot of solo riding-100,000 miles since new) and like to RIDE IT to a lot of shows that show these works of art. I also run a multi day group ride called The Long Road and we don't care WHAT you RIDE! You are riding through the same 250-300 miles every day in the same conditions as the guy next to you with the chopper, a bagger, or sport bike. The camaraderie is still the same! Rode, and still have, an '85 Kawasaki 900 Eliminator and took my share of ribbing from my Harley buddies for years! But it was no different than the Chevy/Dodge/Ford guys ribbing each other, as long as it was in good fun.BTW, I actually like( but haven't ridden) the Street Glide) as it looks kind of similar to the Honda CBX with the sport tour package, which I loved too. Never had a fairing on anything so don't know what they are like either on the frame or attached to the forks.

Sometimes it feels like people are rather offended by the tone and delivery of the message rather than the message itself.. I guess they are intimidated by a strongly expressed opinion and without even considering what is being said, they start defending themselves... Not knowing what exactly are they defending themselves of :D I know it to be true as I do it myself as well. But admitting you have a problem is the first step towards recovery, so I hope there's hope for me..

Dude I'm a chopper owner. Built on a 2009 sportster, 6 over forks, rabbit ears bars and you're totaly right, I can't turn shit at low speed. Things about choppers is that they look good, they're built for aesthetic purposes. It even can be pleasant to ride on straight lines and long trips. But when it comes to performance, honestly they really suck. You spend thousands and thousands of $ to make your bike worse than before. Some guys even remove the front brake. But why do we do it ? Cause it looks good and badass. You made the choice to improve aesthetic over performance and that's the result. You own a beautiful shitty bike. The best thing imo is to own different type of bikes if you can afford that.

Honestly as far as watching videos about a certain bike that you are considering buying, for research purposes, I learn ten times more from a video focusing on the bad and annoying stuff as I get from a video just talking about how fucking great a bike is, how flickable it is, the awesome poooweeeer and so on. Give me a video called "10 things I dislike/hate about [insert bike]" any day of the week, over a video full of praise from a brand new owner of a new bike who is so jacked up on endorphins and honeymoon love that he or she is almost incapable of finding faults in the bike, despite the fact that every single bike on the market has flaws. Most of the "fill in the blanks", most of the unknowns, that I as a buyer need to know about a certain model can be found in the "10 things I hate" videos.

Well don't know about the rest out their, kinda tune in for your opinion. I don't always agree but can honestly say you have changed the way I think of some things. I know you will never sugar coat it or worry about people getting butt hurt, just straight up honesty. I can appreciate the fabrication on those bikes and even see the beauty but can never get past bikes you can't ride, hey just me I guess. I have a 78 xs 750 triple that bought as a project, was going to get it chopped. I got it running and took it out for a ride and loved the way it handled and rode. Ended up cleaning it up and keeping it as a surviver bike, I seem to get more attention on that one than my others, seems as though somebody always has a " that's just like the one I had" Guess I can say I love motorcycles for what they were built to do, ride. Hey man keep the vids coming!

Those XS triples were a different look with only 3 cylinders. Don't think they made them for many years. Are they hard to find parts for? Some bikes, which are rarer than others, should be left alone. I love choppers, but to cut up a rare bike, in my mind, isn't right, unless it's been wrecked.

Let’s not get crazy the shaft that transfers the power of the drive shaft on the right side to the sprocket and chain on the left is called a jack shaft Jack shaft. That are nothing new in fact Yamaha uses one one their roadstar and warriors models. Now as for the Mad skills the builder of these 3 bikes has, I can not deny. Eric's chopper is a hideous adventure into futility. His Mad Max rat bike is a beautiful adventure into utility. I would love to own that thing. I wouldn't take the glam fairy if it was free with a $2000 gift certificate included.

Those custom bikes are fucking BADASS! The only one I would even try to ride is that sick Rat bike. That thing was SWEET.

My bike sucks because some scummy bastards robbed it last night, and left it beaten & battered. Though the support/help I got from friends and even people i didn't know was incredible. Which gave me a thought upon seeing a video of yours pop up..... Can you please do a video about scumbag bike thieves and thieves in general...? I can imagine your rant would be rather uplifting

Come over to St. Pete and visit my buddy Jeff at GraySpeed. He is a killer up and coming builder. You need to see some of his Triumph builds. Cool merch and unique parts. Plus, great art on the wall. Worth the trip.

It's the internet, man....things are either the best thing ever, or the worst thing ever, and there isn't a lot of in between. Critical thinking is a lost art.

Ain’t nothing wrong with dad jeans buddy , it’s just “growing up “ , I loved the rocket 111 stuff and equally enjoy the Duke stuff so whatever it is you’re doing just keep doing it till ya can’t do it no more , just take it easy between those trees , ya keep making me flinch

Shadetree Surgeon, People get their panties in a twist over the littlest things. I’ve had brand new vehicles that I’ve bitched about. My ‘84 Monte Carlo was in the shop as much as I drove it. It was a nice car but it was a piece of junk. It must’ve been built on a Monday or Friday. I enjoy your videos. Those Choppers were cool. The first one my short ass could ride. Keep making videos, I’ll keep watching. Looking forward to the next video and beyond.

I saved up and paid cash for my brand new 1989 FXSTS, that alone took two years of hard labor at Teal Cedar Products. I feel like I built it with my bare hands.
