Overall an excellent video, but one area to keep in mind is that templates are typically not recommended when applying online because the ATS can misread and change your formatting. The templates are fine for in-person interviews, networking etc.

Hey I have a question if anyone can answer for me. I worked hard making a nice resume on Canva but then I’ve been hearing that they don’t work well with ATS. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Thanks, great video!

ATS systems do not handle images or spacing well. I used to have a table on my resume in Word to help structure everything. A good way to test this is to either use ATS testers you can find online or even just see how autofill is populating when you apply for jobs. I noticed my formatting was always weird when it would autofill on Workday or other job boards. I removed the Word table and stripped all images and graphics and went back to basics. The autofill started working much better so I can safely assume it is also much more ATS compliant. The Power Couple seem to be focused on Google and other FAANG company applications where the Canva resume may stand out more and whose ATS systems are more dynamic and built out. If you are applying to any company that is not FAANG I would recommend just stripping everything completely and having a simple black and white ATS compliant resume you can spam to 20-30 job postings a day.

Dear MagicMagus... I think you barely know the whole picture. The recommendation you said may be a requirement of some particular company. Which is way far from the norm. I have seen people,my friends having single page 2 column getting jobs at Goldman Sachs,morgan Stanley with more than 35lpa offer. So relax.
