I think you're just a realist. We talk about this in accelerators quite often. It's a mindset where you acknowledge the challenges, but don't fixate on them. You're cautious of risk, but not afraid. Also, failing is underrated. Just fail better each time and you'll get your GT3 haha. I sold mine a couple of years ago actually! Just missed out on the 997.2s when I got it, wish I waited.
@ryanburryy4 ай бұрын
yep that definitely sums it up! yeah you still gotta be calculated, but no point to focus on the negativity. totally agree too, it sucks how much people/society frame “failing” as a bad thing when it’s best way to learn. ah no way 😂 how come you sold it?
@mepandayoubamboo4 ай бұрын
@@ryanburryy Definitely man. I'm fair sure 95% of this "10% success" cohort has failed many times in their lives. I had the GT3 for about 10 years so it's had it's run! I'm in my 30s so more a lifestyle change. The new models are wild. I'll be waiting for that video when you get yours haha

I agree that it helps to be more accountable. Also, it helps to reflect more. For example, I share metrics publicly in videos, and I am trying to explain why some changes happen. In order to explain it, I need to take a deep dive. Without videos, sometimes I just forget to ask myself these questions

100%, saying things out loud leads to making other connections you wouldn't even realize. definitely agree man. also really helps with improving your speaking/thinking process

@@ryanburryy oh yeah. I am not a native speaker, so making videos about my startup helps me improve my communication skills especially when I edit my videos and observe mistakes that I make

A nicer descriptive word would be having "faith" in what you do compared to being "delusional". Yes, there is evidence that 90%+ startups fail within their first year and most owners never see success. However to say nobody is successful through their startup would be false since there's still ~10% of owners who are successful. You can't be delusional because there are still folks who are successful having their own startup, there is evidence of this. Thus, I think having faith is a proper term because you believe you can be successful, you just don't have the evidence to prove you are, yet.

yeah I really like this take, probably a more accurate word to use.

I've been a software engineer for 3 years or so, building an app on the side, so this is inspiring. I'm planning to leave my job soon and work on it full time. I ended up implementing my own auth, but I wondered do you use Supabase Auth?

Love your videos can you maybe tell me about your programm/develop journey what languages you learn and how? Keep it up
@ryanburryy4 ай бұрын
appreciate it! and just pick a language you want to learn, get some basic foundations of how it works from watching a couple tutorials, but don’t spend too long on tutorials bc you can get trapped in “tutorial hell” where you never leave tutorials. so get a basic foundation, then think of something you want to create (simple enough but you have to be interested in it) and then just jump into it and try your build it. you’ll struggle a lot at first, but that’s the best way to learn imo. you’ll have to look up specific solutions to specific problems, but you’ll immediately have something to apply it to.
@Jesse-pr6co4 ай бұрын
@@ryanburryy Thank you so much, I was stuck in Tutorial hell but recently gotten out of it by just making stuff and only when I'm stuck just looking for the answer and learning from it.
