I didn't see anyone else stating the obvious...WHY didn't someone on the VBS leadership team read this book (the Brick Bible) before offering it as a prize to one of the children? I have a difficult time understanding this. Our pastor and discipleship team goes over every curriculum, book, pamphlet, and handout that is displayed/given in our church. I go to a small church, but our VBS is the largest outreach we have every year. To me this book being given out at VBS was a major failure of leadership.

Most church leaders actually don't pay attention. They just go by what's going to attract people to church, and that's why there's such a huge heresy problem as well as the responding wave of "deconstructionists" in the American church. Most pastors think their only job is to teach.

As a mom of a 12 and 10 year old, let me just say how FAST it goes and how MUCH “time to yourself” you’ll find you have in almost no time at all. For years now I e been able to sleep in, my kids can feed themselves, and I can go take a nap, run errands easily, etc. We as parents will have so much more time to ourselves than we ever will have “tied up” in sacrificing for our kids. Even if you have a bunch of kiddos, the same as I already said. IT IS WORTH IT AND IF YOU ARE ABLE, HAVE CHILDREN. And do it in your twenties lest it become more difficult to conceive. You will wish for the messy house when all of a sudden it’s clean, quiet, and your kids are gone. I dread the day 😢

I'm a childless woman who really wants kids but hasn't yet been blessed with the opportunity, and the treating-pets-as-kids thing is a HUGE pet peeve of mine (no pun intended). I adore my cat and absolutely strive to give her the best care I can, but she is not my "daughter" and I am not her "mother". I didn't adopt her as a stand-in for a child, but rather because I just happen to like cats and would want one regardless of whether or not I had kids. I understand why some people in my position would find the idea of being their pet's "parent" comforting, but to me it just feels like such a massive cope and it drives me crazy that it's seen as almost the default way to be a pet owner (every time I take my cat to the vet the people working there refer to me as her "mama"). Very frustrating! Pets are awesome and imo absolutely count as "members of the family", but having a pet is not the same as raising an actual human child, and conflating the two has always sat poorly with me.

I have seen fake Christians manage VBS and promote non-Christian themes. These same people used church events to decorate with Satanic symbolism. Yet, the pastors could not see it, and if you mentioned it you would be labeled as imagining things. As to promoting animals, it goes back to Genesis when God created THREE groups of beings on the SIXTH day: humans-Adam and Eve / slithering things - snakes, lizards, crocs, etc. / livestock-cattle- bulls, cows, goats, pigs, sheep, dogs, cats, etc. These three groups of beings created on the SIXTH day rebelled against God and hence 666. From this point on, Satan ruled the world and satanic/pagan kingdoms worshipped hybrid human-animal gods. In these androgynous kingdoms same sex intercourse was common and also sex with animals as the book of Leviticus mentions. Satan is trans > like the god Baphomet, part male, part female and part animal.

I see myself as their dog mom because I do for them as I would a toddler. But mostly I see myself as a steward. But to say that the worship (or what you call worship) of an animal is a sacrifice of children is not something I agree with wholeheartedly. Why? Because I have tried adopting and you get charged highly to adopt a child. Whatever happened to opening your heart and home to a child. When did it become a purchase? Dogs are cheaper to adopt. I see many women who are awesome mom's and I thank God for them every time I think about it. Yet I also see many who abuse theirs and feel angered that they could accomplish what I couldn't and they throw it away. So yes I love my pets. They bring me joy. Guys. The Bible is full of history and absolutely imperfect people. It is not "child-friendly." God is love, but not without judgement and anger. As our kids age, we have to teach them what the Bible actually says. I've seen COUNTLESS story bibles sold at mainstream places that depict the same bloody scenes, but in a less child-friendly way than legoes - like a comic book Bible for kids ages 8+ that actually has toddlers with h.e.a.d.s. off being held by crying parents. That's graphic and unnecessary. The Lego Bible mostly follows what the Bible says, and we have to teach our kids. Too many adult Christians don't ever get past the basic stories. Reality is harsh, and reading the Bible in a realistic way with our children is a phenomenal way to address what the Bible says, other verses that show God's thoughts on a topic, and apply that to our real life too. There has to be some upgrade from the feel-good, skim-over-the-ugly-parts of Biblical history and real life too.

I read the original version when it was first published and literally found not a single departure, nothing in the slightest, from the Bible and really enjoyed the Lego theme and thought at the time how creative the author was in doing that. Now, after reading the kids version, I can find no inaccuracies or misrepresentations at all in it either. I do however question your own misguided, purposeful or otherwise, confusion of the differences between the original book, and the sanitized kids version in your podcast. It’s been years since I looked into the Brick Bible. I remember that I first knew something was off when the author highlighted all the death in the Noah story. I looked into him. I remember there was a allusion to a woman being “attacked” too. Turns out the author is an unbeliever and the project was done to dupe Christians and to mock God and the Bible. It was produced in a mean spirited tone. It’s too bad because the Bible done right in Legos is an awesome concept.

I'm 47 and childless and not married (not by choice). For some reason it is just not in God's plan for me and I have made peace with the fact that I won't be having children and maybe, also may never marry. My frustration with being a Christian doesn't come from not being blessed with this, but from how I am treated by the Christian community because I am childless and not married. I am made to feel like I have not been strong enough in my faith and overall an abysmal failure as a woman of God. It's disheartening to be made into an outcast, spoken about with derision by the right and in general have my faith called into question. Honestly without God, without my faith, I probably wouldn't be here, typing this comment. I know God has a plan for me and I refuse to be angry because my one dream of having children didn't happen. But I also think there needs to be a shift within Christianity to minister to women like me. I doubt I am the only one. We are loved by God just as much as anyone else.

Idk...I've seen plenty of kids touch their face, nose, dirty floors, you name it then touch food, communal surfaces...etc. Sorry, but that spreads germs and many of them are more communicable to other people than what fluffy the dog is spreading. I remember being on a bus and watching a kid lick the arm rest or put their drooling faces on railings....like I'm sorry but that's more gross than a dog sitting on a floor. I'm not touching a floor, but I might need to hold onto that railing....the problem is that many kids have no manners in this day and age. I do think people over all are important, however I also think God calls people to different things in life and if caring for animals is your calling over having kids then there's nothing wrong with that. He created animals and we have the responsibility of taking care of them. Also, maybe that same "child-free" person has a gift with taking care of the elderly instead of children. I don't think God values one set of gifts over the other.

The text seems to allow such an interpretation. However it is also important to explain to children that the slingshot was not an elastic toy. It was a strap with a cradle for an egg or fist sized stone which a soldier swung around his head at high speed and released. The account says it stove in Galioth's forehead. The amazing part was not the lethality of the weapon but that David wielded it successfully against an experienced opponent who was wearing armor.

That's discouraging. My daughter is raising her almost 5 year old daughter, as we are Brainstorming what to do regarding her education, we keep running into shut doors. I'm just going to say it, We are poor. She us a 6 year recovered addict, young Christian mom who has such a passion to do everything right, at least all that us within her ability. I raised my children as a single mother, the struggles were very real but in the 40 years ago, everything was just much easier. I honescholled my children the first few grades, but had to work to survive. All the idealologies she us facing blows us each away. My granddaughter is very fast, very smart and starting to play a lot if games I hate I. My daughter does watch her time on her tablets, yes plural. I spent a great deal of time preparing her for school so she reads, better than any child I've seen at age 4. She thrives on the stimulation, she has imagination but no friends. We have ,NO good church near us. We have no car, or we'd drive out of our way to church. When my babies were little, I bundled them up and drove 54 mins each morning and evening to a wonderful church. My daughter had an accident with a semi, thankfully she's ok but my car is gone. That is my own fault. I stayed home to watch my very tiny baby granddaughter when it was cold and pouring rain. I ran outside to heat up the car for her, I know God told me, you need to drive. It was VERY plain. I did not listen. I said many times, watch out for the semi's. Let me cut to the chase, I am disabled at 58, I was hit by a drunk driver. Texas HWYS. I'm in City by the sea, not far from Corpus. Their hwys are very dangerous. We would move in a heartbeat, we have no one but each other. I would LoVe to pay for Sherwood. Every single thing is just SO costly. My granddaughter has been playing Legos on her tablet. I haven't seen it myself bc my space/your space is something of a grace my daughter needing to learn and she is. She's in full time college, online for nurse management. She's has a 4.0 so far, and thus is hard content. God has blessed her so much, and my goodness, does she ever have a story to share. She was sex trafficked out by a leader of an Aryan gang. Long and longer story, 3 three tones, she lives, and is pushing through by God's Grace! We just really, really need to head north. We can't stand living in the south. We are anitially from Michigan. Getting OUT in the summertime is HUGE to our health but here, it's not possible.

What a testimony you and your daughter have! It seems to me, with your daughters online school and grades, it will just be a little longer, then she will have a reasonable income for the 3 of you. Hold on sister! Since you are disabled (at home?) I would recommend you homeschool while your daughter studies and works. My 22yo daughter just finished college and since middle school, it has been a long journey through confusion and back. And spiritual battle in prayer against the adversary trying to claim her the whole way. If I knew then what I know now, I would do everything in my power to homeschool to keep her from being exposed to the things she was exposed to in public school. Schools are so very different now. Even in the 4 years between my older boys and my daughter, public school changed radically. Girls are also affected much more easily by social pressures and norms. Also, pick an online church to attend weekly and make it a priority. It’s not as satisfying as attending a real church, but your granddaughter is watching what you do and prioritize, even at her young impressionable age. Keep praying Grandma! The blessings and protection of a praying parent and grandparent cannot be overstated! This is the most important thing you can do!

Like, it is something we should all know... but the way you worded and declared it was something my spirit needed to hear. In fact, I think it's a message young women esp sorely lack and need to hear; nowadays it's far more commonplace to hear of sacrifice in a more masculine context. I so wish this specific truth of our very design was preached more often. Thank you for sharing this wisdom with us, Allie. The moment I stepped foot inside my house with my newborn baby in my arms and went through the process of acclimating to our new normal, it became immediately and abundantly clear that I did not and could not love the animals I had adored and cared for for years the way I loved the baby in my arms that I'd known for days. No shot. No comparison. I felt guilty about it for years, but now that I have two kids, my feelings have only gotten stronger and I've come to accept the way it is. He has his followers wearing his mark on their foreheads and convinced christians that he has come to save them, i think i recall something about that in the bible....... but hey, lets just pretend that this is all in the last 4 years and ignore all the years before where kids are being harmed.

So... the Brick Bible is a literal art interpretation of actual stories in your Bible, to say the Brick Bible is bull crap is to say the ACTUAL Bible is bull crap.

Guys don't ever assume that women who don't have kids or don't want kids are bad people. We women are still God's children even if we don't have children of our own. If you are against labeling than do not label women who can't or won't have kids. God is not going to hate women just for not having children. You can punish a women who abuses children. But don't criticize women who don't want to be forced to have children or just can't because of legitimate medical reasons. Even as a Christian woman, I have kitty cats. I don't take them to school or put clothes on them. I love their company. I also think they are easier to take care of more than children. I'm sure that children are a blessing but they are a lot of responsible. Maybe some people think it's affordable to have pets instead of kids. You have to have money for clothes, food, diapers, school supplies, school tuition and so on. That's a lot of money spent to provide for your kids needs. I'm not saying this to insult anyone. If you are a great parent, God bless you big time. But parenting is not for everybody. You are still God's child regardless whether you have kids or not. There is nothing demonic or cursed about that. Besides aren't we all a little nutty? Even women who are parents? Having no kids does not make you a villain. Having children does not make you a saint either.

I don't think I heard that this was said. I think it has more to do with people denigrating motherhood.

@@creativeinspirations8200 I understand that now. I was just overly concerned. It was a while ago since I made that comment. It was a little ignorant but it was not made out of malice. I'm glad some people clarify to me what the video was really about.

Thank you for addressing the pet issue. Yes people think they’re as equal as humans. We’ve had so much trouble with people thinking and elevating dogs to human status that they think they should live inside 100% of the time. we live in a very mild climate and have nice shelter for our working farm dogs, but they’re not allowed inside and people go crazy.

So you think people shouldn't be allowed to keep their animals in their own house? How is that any of your business?

She shouldn't have had to! Don't people READ the stuff they give to their children?!
@emlyle12284 ай бұрын
@Yesica1993 I seriously doubt all people do. Some people would never suspect a children's Bible would be so malicious. Unfortunately, that's the world we live in today.

@@emlyle1228 I wouldn't have immediately suspected this level of evil either. But still, even when I have given books to small children as gifts in years past, I would, at the very least, flip through them to see what they were about and to check anything that was "off". These days I would do so much in depth research! It's mind boggling that parents just hand kids stuff. Again, that should be the real story here.

@@Yesica1993 The "evil" you suggest is in the Brick Bible comes DIRECTLY from the actual Bible. Thank you for admitting that the War-god of Abraham is Evil, we agree!

@@JayBandersnatch You've never read the full Bible. You neither know, much less care, what it teaches about anything. Understand that you WILL one day stand before this Christ you now mock and blaspheme. You WILL give account for your filth spewed here. Best of all, you WILL bow before Him in worship - whether in joy for salvation if you choose to repent, or in terror, as He casts you into everlasting Hell. Know that. Repent while He still grants you breath to do so. Either way, you WILL bow. How I long to see that day!

You are so right Allie. Before I had kids I would think dogs lives were as important as children’s and now as a 32 yo old woman I cringe at the fact I use to think that way because there is no way I believe that now that I have my kids

Completely agree! I loved my dog, but when I had my baby she ended up developing severe allergies that were aggravated by my dog. I ended up needing to rehome my dog. I knew I wanted to find him a new loving home and not just drop him off at a shelter. I posted I was looking to rehome my dog and I got sooo much hate from people saying how dare I do that, that my dog has feelings too, and just so many judgmental comments for putting my child’s needs before my dogs.
