y’all remember when dmills couple pods ago said Kat improved on defense 🤣🤣🤣🤣 not knowing him playing with Rudy covered his flaws lol

He was talking abt how KAT playing for Thibs would lead him to really put in effort defensively, and I’m thinking “He ALREADY played for Thibs before and wasn’t good at defense”

I’m waiting for Mitch and precious to come back cause after this bucks game you can see the defensive potential of the team and to add a elite paint defender/offensive rebounder and a great backup 4 defensively it’ll only get better

I wanna see more Jacob Toppin and Kevin McCullar minutes. I can’t with these Payne or Kolek minutes they’re just too small while playing on a small team. They need more 3&D wings. Ultimately having to hide KAT AND Brunson just might be impossible. It worked with Randle cause he could slide his feet more +had I-Hart or Mitch as a rim protector
@Moss_Head21Ай бұрын
@ toppin is not good and McCullar is hurt rn I’d just be patient and wait for Precious and Mitch to come back to fortify the front court

When the KAT trade went down, I kept hearing that Knicks didn't win that trade. I've been seeing this a LOT. The offense just looks lost, and I keep realizing the absence of Donte has really showed. Donte wasn't just a spark plug, he was THE spark plug. We did not need this trade. Julius Randle would help this defense right now. I just think we went a little too hard in the off-season. Getting Mikal and OG was huge. But we didn't need that trade at all.

As of right here right now Karl is the best center in the east *that is playing*, at least on the offensive side. The defense is only slightly below average with no chemistry. I think this is why the coach we have is the coach we have. He's the one who revolutionized OREB in the contemporary era, let's hope he figures out this defense. It also helps that KAT had his best defensive year under him as well. I'm confident we'll be good for playoffs
@Mr.QuietAsKeptАй бұрын
For Thibbs to OK that KAT trade, he's gotta have patience and see the end goal. KAT gotta move them puppies tho lol. Also when you have Brunson, you gotta GOTTA keep the offense on point to counter teams hunting him.

There’s been like, 5 teams in nba history to win without a top 10 defense and they’ve been teams that have had historically great offenses that borderline revolutionized the game Lol. Knicks gotta get better on defense period

@maplesyruplube8835Ай бұрын
Mikal Bridges is too small to play the role you expected of him we saw it when Luka got whatever he wanted in the suns series that he cant guard a big SF size guy. Knicks actually have a personell problem they need someone like trayce jackson davis or just any big 4 or 5 that can guard a slow but strong scorer. That is why the twolves ended up working Rudy although he isn't the perfect fit beside KAT can fill that role defensively and that is what he needs someone like Vanderbilt if he ever played again would also work.

KAT last year proved that he can be a good defensive player (like when he and naz locked up jokic with gobert out) but this yeat he proved to everybody that he NEEDS another bigman (6'10+) near him cuz he soft and isn't a good pick and roll Defender
@leonardo_mrllАй бұрын
KAT Is good at blitzing and stunt and recover when defending the pick n roll so he NEEDS a shot blocking threat under the rim playing the 4/5 (a naz reid, and Aaron Gordon or a rim protector like gobert/mitch Robinson)
@nilesmaxwell758Ай бұрын
To me it's not necessary just defense they lack depth
@iwannatalktosampson5852Ай бұрын
Kat at the 5 just not the recipe for a good defense while he's improved at defense he's not anywhere close to good enough on that end to be the anchor. Getting mitch healthy will help really kat maybe just best at the 4 if you want to be a elite defense
