As a Heat fan. I have the exact same question. He has never played this poorly before. Seems like he's struggling to find a balance on offense and his defense is also taking a hit as a result. Its bad enough that he's still playing that undersized center position.

I think Bam is letting his shooting dictate his game rather having his game dictate his shooting. The only thing that really confuses me is the usage rates. I just can't believe they can't figure out ways to get any sort of good looks for Bam, especially since it should be easier as Bam is one of the rare big men that can consistently be used as that offensive hub for his team

Haliburton hasn't been figured out he just can't hit a shot to save his life. He's got shot creation and driving issues for sure, I think his next step will be bulking out a little like steph did. But these aren't things ppl are figuring out hes just missing the shots he was making before. Doesn't help he's gotta play sg next to nembhard.

Idk I’ve given up all hope trying to understand what the Heat are doing. Offense has been in the mud for years now- let’s not forget even in 2022-2023 they were an 8th seed for a reason. They got to the Finals yes because of Jimmy going insane but also hot shooting from role players that stepped up big time - Gabe Vincent, Max Strus, Caleb Martin. By the way *all three of those guys* have walked for nothing since then. The foundation of the team is just cooked man. It’s over five years into it and Jimmy and Bam still look awkward running into each other and crowding each other’s spacing.

Bam’s offense is inefficient and ineffective. The Nuggets & Celtics beat the Heat easily because their focus was to force Bam to take lots of shots especially midrange shots. If the Heat want to be a contender as Jimmy continues to age they have to move away from Bam as the focal point of the offense, or he has to mature his game to take 3pt shots as his main weapon Also, Bam unfortunately gets blocked at the rim a lot now & his free throw % has been bad to start this year as well

I love the heats young guys and think they need more minutes. Josh Christopher ware and keshad Johnson. Even Pelle Larson. Thomas Bryant and Dru smith suck. Offense is too clunky.
