forget about this laptop, no laptop can come even close to a desktop. You can even get an top spec alienware but still it will get smoked by a desktop built with a cheaper cost with lower specs. How I know this ? I wasted 1.5L in buying a top spec laptop (same legion series) and yet it couldn't even handle a cyberpunk that came 1 year later. Now me use it for watching youtube videos and telling others to not make the same mistake as me 🥲🥲🥲🥲

Sure, you can say that gaming laptop lets you do gaming when you change place like go to your home from college or in a vacation where you can plug that charging brick. But you will never be able to play while on battery or while travelling. That's not practical. Still if you want to spend your or your parent's hard earned money on some concocted notion of "portability", sure go ahead. I am regretting it and that's what I said. doesn't mean anyone has to agree with it.

In older games, I used to get about 120fps but in newer story driven games like star wars or cyberpunk, even 60 fps with medium settings was hard. Esports tittles run better but there is no need to spend so much for those type of games.

Just think of it as a portable Desktop that you can carry and setup anywhere. Also there are thin and light gaming laptops from the same brand in this price with Intel and AMD's new AI processors which even manage to give 9+ hours of battery life and even have a dedicated GPU like rtx 4060 or 4070. This laptop is a desktop replacement for travelling individuals. I mean, just look at the Cinebench r23 score from this laptop. It's far better than older flagship desktop processors like i9 10900k and the GPU score is also extremely high and definitely beats a ton of older desktop GPUs

@@honkugogoi This laptop is totally overkill, there are a ton of thin and light laptops from the same brand and give 9+ hours of battery life despite having a GPU like RTX 4060 and 4070 that too having a TGP of over 100W. Even hese laptops are stronger than a lot of Flagship desktop component in the past and should be enough for most people and are much more practical

5 years back in 2019, I also thought the same thing and bought 1.5L legion Y740 I7 (top variant) by looking at the specs. i7 9th gen, 16GB RAM, 1TB Nvme SSD, 144Hz display with 100% sRGB and HDR+Dolby vision and RTX 2070 8GB. It just took 1.5 years for my delusion to go away faster than a lamborghini when cyberpunk 2077 came. I got a shock worth 1.5L to realize that a laptop is still a laptop and a desktop is a desktop. Even the most powerful laptop in the world will still bite dust in comparison to a desktop build with a cheaper price and that's a FACT. Whoever disagrees with this is either a clueless or try to sell an overpriced crap. If gaming is your only priority, get yourself a console instead of a gaming laptop. Games are specially optimised for consoles. So it will last at least 8 years and will play pretty much every game with max settings.

desktop is better but never get consol first the graphics quality is lower than that same in pc. also like in spiderman 2 if u choose graphics u get low fps , if u choose performance u get less graphics, games are costly compared to pc as pc has many stores and discounts. ( if u dont want to pay for a story game u can load it free). so a 1lakh desktop is awesome , can do a lot of productivity along with games. i too have 3060 legion 2021. i am happy with the performance knowing its a laptop.

@@bugbuggy3866 i dont play bad optimized games like star wars , there pc ports are bad. and i have modded frame gen in games so like in spiderman remastered i get 120 to 140 in very high or high and raytracing set to high. similarly i avoid bad games and i dont want to play jedi , star wars or even last of us. i played both god of wars runs great , dmc 5 , black myth , nfs unbound , doom eternal , valo , cod etc all runs great. also its 2yr old laptop and got on sale for 90k so i am happy

Legion is great series Ive been using Legion 5 (i7 -10Gen) 2020 16 GB RAM (LPDDR4x) and 4 GB GTX 1650ti with 144hz no lags runs pretty smooth. More than sufficient for regular use and casually I play Valo at avg 230 FPS.

You can get a way better gaming setup at lower cost with a desktop. The CPU will cost around 1.6 lacs with DESKTOP RTX 4070 Super and a decent CPU (you don't need to spend so much on CPU for gaming). You can get an extremely good 2k 27" monitor at around 30k. And 10k is more than enough for decent peripherals (if you are not very picky about the sound quality of the speakers). You can achieve the same performance as this one with around 1.5 lacs on desktop (full setup). You lose portability but gain upgradability and save money.

X86 architecture(intel,ryzen) consumes more power by design. For CPU-intensive tasks requiring long battery life (without gaming needs), Windows laptops with Snapdragon processors (ARM-based, like Apple Mac) may be a better option.
