Great review Robin I agree with all your assessment’s of the LC 500 convertible. I bought an 2022 LC 500 Infrared convertible about 1 month ago. I have to say it has been the most fun and entertaining car I have ever owned. I have owned a BMW 6 series convertible, Chevrolet Corvette and a Mitsubishi VR4 twin turbo. For all around fund factor none of the other cars come close. Are you going to pick up lumber at Home Depot NO. This car is for pure enjoyment which is what life is all about. Best of all none of my other cars I would even consider keeping for over 100,000 miles. I have no concerns with the LC. The engine has been used in multiple high performance Lexus vehicles with little or no problems.

Yes the car is a boat. I saw one at the dealership and ordered one. Trading in my beloved 2010 Vette. This lexus is stunning and that exhaust note will melt your heart, it made me just smile , inside and out. Should be here in 2-3 weeks. Just in time for spring 🏖️

As an LC500 convertible owner, this is one of the best reviews of the car that I've seen. Kudos Robin. I've driven the coupe version at Lexus' Performance Driving School at COTA in Austin, the car is much better with all the nannies on in Sport mode. The 5.0L V8 in all instances -- RC-F, GS-F, LC500, IS500 -- overpowers the rear tires easily, and ~10 minutes of heavy track driving in Sport+ soon overheats the transmission. I was surprised to see you go to the top of 2nd gear in automatic mode -- in my opinion, the right way to do it. A lot of reviewers run it in manual mode and hit the little rev limiter stutter at the top of 2nd, which to me doesn't sound as good as the shift crack that you got. Highway driving is best done in Comfort mode, as you did. Uses all 10 gears but the suspension is softest for cruising. I've done 1050 miles in a day in the car and the best observed MPG I saw was 32.6, doing 82 MPH in 10th gear across northern New Mexico. Lastly, I was surprised to see that you didn't mention the infotainment system. It's a common complaint by reviewers, but I fault Lexus for not correctly explaining their "climate concierge" feature. The seat heat/cool, steering wheel heat and headrest blowers all work well when set to full auto and the passenger simply uses their temperature setting on the dash. The mistake most reviewers make is trying to control these individually, where the fully automatic mode works really well.

Fantastic to read that you like my review, thank you! And I always love hearing an owners perspective. In my experience with it, the infotainment worked well. Yeah, the climate concierge is an interesting feature and I'm glad to know that it works well in fully automatic mode. With the weather, and all the other things to cover, I didn't feel taking the time for an in-depth test was worth viewers time, so i'm grateful for your opinion.

Not a bad review...all in all. What you should know from someone who has owned a 2018 LC500 and enjoyed every single minute for just under four years is this is the best car in production today for real human beings. For those who fancy themselves as race car drivers or for those who actually think a Porsche is the be all to end all in the automotive industry, it may not be the best car...because all of those people are delusional. They live in a fictional world inside of their own head and they truly believe driving a car on public roads and horsing around with other cars around them is not serious business. It's those idiots who make life interesting simply because they are idiots. You either buy a race car and race on a track or you buy a car for the real world. The LC 500 is the car for the real world. It does everything it was designed to do very well and will not leave you stranded by the side of the road when a cheaply made electronic component fails. Porsche owners know all about this! The LC 500 is comfortable, luxurious, reliable transportation that also happens to be gorgeous. It costs about a third of what it should. The infotainment system is sensational once you understand you don't need to use the trackpad, except in very rare situations. VOICE COMMAND does 99.95% of everything you'll ever need to do. My car is a daily driver that I park in the garage every night. After four years, sometimes I just stare at it and marvel at how great it looks. Then, I shake my head in disbelief at how some people can think a car designed in 1968 and still looks almost exactly the same is a great car. But, that's what makes a horse race. As for driving, handling and all the stuff involved in normal daily driving, you simply can't ask for a better car. A better car does not exist. You did enjoy reviewing this car and that's obvious. What you don't know is just HOW GREAT this car is to own. Unfortunately, my guess is that you'll rush out and buy a stupid Porsche way before you would ever think about a really good car thinking you've just purchased the best car on the road when in fact, you simply fell for the hype.

I love that you love your LC 500. And I agree that it's a car with a lot of strengths. My personal favorite is the muscular and beautiful sounding engine. In fact, I did a separate video just on that: kzbin.infojhzezmTRTzQ?feature=share But to call people delusional just because they like a different car is way off base. Porsche builds fantastic cars and the 911 is incredibly good. In fact, it's one of the best driving cars on the market today. If you prefer your Lexus, great! Just don't disparage people for liking another brand.

Loved your review based on owning the Lexus LC500! I have just got mine and I absolutely love this car, have driven almost every so called competitor and I was a Porsche mechanic years ago. I do love Porsches but agree with you whole heartedly the the Lexus LC500 V8 version is a very very special car for road driving!!! Most Performance Porsche’s Ferrari’s where built to perform for a race track, they are not the complete package like the LC. We are the lucky few that really in years to come will still fully appreciate its build quality and reliability, looks.🤙

22 LC Coupe with DHP here. Funny you said all that. I placed an order for a 911 but pulled it for this just before they started production. I absolutely adore him. I love spanking Scatpacks, GTs SS WRX, Type R's, and if I'm on top of it i can catch 911's GTRs, Vetts off guard laughing the entire way. LOL

And if you like being different. Lexus only sells ~1500 of the LC per year when Porsche sells ~10k/year of the 911 in all varients. I see the 911 as being the Honda Civic for the upper class. Sure its a great car, but its so damn common. If you buy the LC you don't like being common. Maybe your not common? 😉

I'm in the market for one, but I'm so torn. Coupe vs Convertible. They both look so great. Coupe looks sporty yet the convertible looks so classy with the flat back end. Also, I can't decide between white and red. All good problems, I guess. LOL

18:10 22 Coup with DHP here. I ride and track motos, run from police (on the bike not the car). You could say I'm... spirited. LOL You need to know that so you understand what I'm going to say. The rear wheel steer turns the understeer into oversteer in extreme situations. You should be aware of that. Case in point i did risky maneuver on the freeway cutting all the way across 5 lanes in one go. One go meaning that single lane space slottng up all lanes meaning i needed to be 90 deg almost while maintaining highway speed. Needless to say I'm here. The car will do AMAZING things. I could NEVER do that in a GT or traditional RWD car. Id be dead. Accelerating into a turn is possible but you always need to keep mind of the weight. There is a lot there and you don't want that breaking traction on all 4. Having said all that if you keep all that in your head you can calculate some eye watering moves. I love it.

Not sure why peeps say its not a good handler. It handles very well. Ive never complained. I pulled my 911 order for this.
@aurorajones84812 жыл бұрын
I think some of you guys parrot what others have said. And those who first said it probably did because they needed something "smart" to say. Honestly the car handles fantastic. Ive driven the new 911, M5, Comp, E63, and its right there. Whats more if what you say is true its only found at the limit. 99% of ppl will never get to 70% of the limit. So its moot.
