Hopefully it's not lost on anyone, the trans is going to soak up 15% - 20% of the engines power. That would mean that the little 302 is putting down close to or right at 400HP at the flywheel. That is no easy challenge to meet. Great Job folks!!!

@@docsmallblock6584 Yes sir. I worked at a shop for 2 1/2 years that had a chassis dyno. The difference in rwhp from a cheap converter to a good converter was always surprising. That is the one thing I don’t think most people realize. A cheap converter might soak up 28% , where as a good converter, even the same stall, might only soak up 22%.

It's awesome to see this video after coming back from dyno with my 302 yesterday. Mine is an 86 stock bottom end, FloTek 180cc heads, single plane, Edelbrock 650cfm, TFS stage 1, through a T5 and Ford 8" rear, all in a 1964 Mercury. Put down ~330whp. I feel like your 11R heads are the key with those 53cc chambers. I wanted them badly but Flo Tek hooked me up with those heads assembled for $600 which was hard to beat. Any details on those cam specs and/or your rear gear ratio? I would have gone with a bigger cam but as it was I had to flycut my pistons due to the stock 86 piston (no valve relief). Glad I found your channel. Do me a favor and take a peek at mine ;)

So like that is still a stock 302 block untouched piston rods etc... Is it the 80 and is it the 86 factory block that came in at... Because if so it's got flat tops I believe.... And the reason why I'm curious is I always heard putting heads on a stock block 302 untouched was a waste of time... If that's a set of 11R twisted wedge heads put on just the factory engine... Those are the numbers.... That means it will be well worth me doing the same thing on my stock block low mile 302... So that's literally an untouched 302 block rotating assembly untouched... Meaning piston rods crank etc never touched... Just just the twisted wedge heads tuning and other supporting parts mods.... Am I correct.....

its a 93 mustang shortblock. not the forged piston one. its has hyper pistons but still a good short block. and its a completely untouched bottom end. stock pistons, rods, and crank. has heads, cam and a intake. thats it. the 11r's are awesome heads for the 302. work very very well.
